Still a no from me .... I mean look at their selection of games.

Nintendo Land - an interesting diversion, but that's it.
Batman AC - already have it on PS3.
Rabbits Land - meh, 5/10, wouldn't touch it.
Call Of Duty : Black Ops 2 - already have it on 360.
FIFA 13 - worse than other versions.
Your Shape - I'll stick to the gym, thanks.
Sports Connection - a 3/10 game? Hell no!
    Just Dance 4 - I'm not a 9 year old girl.

Now, I know there are more games out there, but...... Is that really all Asda are stocking? Slashing prices plus limited stockholding? I'd say it looks like Asda might be the first big retailer to drop the Wii U completely.

Yep, it seems Asda are definitely trying to shift the bad games. The really good games are absent.

Nintendo have sent out a message to all wii users this week telling them about the new Wii U console.

The price drop of the basic model to £149 (both in Asda, and now on Amazon also) could actually encourage some of these people to upgrade their Wii to a Wii U.

Not this one. Haven't used my Wii in months now and the Wii U may be more powerful but it's never made me want it. :(

I feel quite stupid for spending so much on it a few months back now it's dropped to £199.

    Might just sell it!

Nobody is going to buy the Wii U unless your an avid collector of consoles. It offers nothing other than a touch screen controller.

Nintendo dropped the ball on this big time. It could be the last console they make, and maybe it should be.

Nintendo are also kind of ridiculous when it comes to their own games as well. Mario adventure titles such as Mario Galaxy and 64 rarely get made (Normally only 1 per console). Same goes for Donkey Kong County and Zelda. Instead they waste time with things like Mario Olympics Mario Golf. People want adventure titles with a story to them.

They could have kept the current Wii and updated it with Blu Ray support and controller free gaming. Instead they went for a niche. In between tablet and console instant flop.

It's definatley Dreamcast all over again. I think the PS4 might struggle a bit too but lower prices and better game support might help.

The problem is most people are happy with the current generation consoles. It will take a lot for people to give up there 360's and PS3's.

It's ok everyone, Nintendo have a plan. Their latest initiative is get mobile phone games ported to the Wii U.

Brilliant! It's bound to be a massive success, because hardly anyone has smartphones, tablets or iPods.

Not only does this smack of desperation, but having a screen which doesn't support multi-touch will force developers into some creative control solutions.

Granted, it may generate some extra revenue through the eshop, but I can't see it convincing the masses to buy a console.

The only way Nintendo can salvage the Wii U, if they come up with enough must play 'core' titles.

Things like Nintendoland and Game and Wario are not doing the trick! The casuals have gone of wii sports, and onto smaller mobile titles.
It's sad to see Nintendo like this: Miiverse is good, but not a system seller and as for things like Mii Wara Wara Plaza: it's just not what hardcore gamers want; people like to go into specialist forums as a community gathering, not via babyish looking Mii characters!

Personally, I think Nintendo rely too much on Mr Miyamoto. I hate to beat up on a genuine gaming legend, but he is very childlike to all his approaches

when was the last time they made new console versions of Star Fox and F-Zero exactly? Also am I the only one that thinks a HD Wind Waker port is kind of pointless? Maybe I would feel different if it was Ocarina Of Time or Majora's Mask.

Asda still are not selling them in store though.

My local Asda has always sold it in-store. However, they haven't added any new games to their collection since launch day (seriously...).

They do currently have NintendoLand at just 19.99 though.

ASDA online selling the 32g for £199. Great price and for me Nintendo need to be selling at this price, or near enough, to begin shifting in more impressive numbers.

My only concern is, yes, there are quite a few 1st party titles coming out now and 2014 but then what? Can't see 3rd party miraculously getting better

    149/199 basic/premium.

Even at this price I still can't decide whether to get as a secondary console.

My concern is "what next" after the first party titles in 2013/14 as 3rd party support seems minimal

Still not the right price for traction. Needs to be £99/£150.

Since finishing The Last of Us for a second time my Wii U has suddenly become my "console of the moment" over the PS3 and 360 where, frankly there's nothing doing at the mo.

As well as grinding my way through Super Mario Bros. U (believe me - it is a grind when I play ;)) I've installed The Homebrew Channel in the sandboxed Wii (Lego Batman, £6 from Game and the Bathaxx save ;)) so now the Wii U is my "new-retro" console of choice! :D

Speccy, C64 and all the old console games on the big telly - ah it's been a nostalgic weekend!

Fair comment about the Wii U games situation, folks. I'll make do. ;)

Amazon sold out very quickly when it went down in price. They're back in stock now as of today:

It has appeared back on this amazon links page:

I always said the Wii U was flawed.

Why did they ever call it Wii when it was like every Nintendo console and a totally different console? They could have easily built on the success of the Wii and added controller free gaming and HD.

Instead they will head the way of Sega.

I've had a Nintendo survey sitting in my email for a few days. I thought I would have missed out responding to it by now, but figured I'd give it a go anyway.

It was mostly questioning why I hadn't bought a WiiU!

I'm not sure I'd even buy a Wii U for £50 what about anybody else?

We've got one and we love it, instead of moaning about it, why not focus on the consoles you do like.

A warning to anyone who uses "Buymobilephones.net". I just upgraded my T-Mobile contract because this company promised a free gift of a "Wii - U" worth £309.95. My contract over 24 months has gone up by £7 per month, but I thought that was a bargain to get a premium Wii-U with all the extras.

Just yesterday the 'Free Gift' was delivered. It was a basic 8GB console that can be bought for £150 from many places. I am furious and just wanted you all to know what con artists they are. How can the say the basic model is worth £309.95??

I have sent them a message advising that I will contact Trading Standards if I am not compensated in some way. I am actually out of pocket due this this upgrade. They're a bloody disgrace.

It seems the price even went back up.

    http://m.direct.asda.com/Nintendo-Wii-U-8GB-Console-%28White%29-%28Basic-Pack%29/003774365,default,pd.html

    Out of stock though..

I bought mine just after Christmas 2012. I have played Nintendo land a bit..

I got sonic racing as an Xmas present, I've exhausted the majority of the single player campaign, online is EMPTY and heavily glitched. I got myself ZombiU but haven't touched it. ACIII was also a present but I've lost interest. Over the summer holidays I've been playing Mario Kart Wii and Double Dash!
