Well, one would expect a variation from Charles and William and Henry (Harry), to avoid having to distinguish different royal members with the same Christian name. For that same reason, Edward may well be eschewed. That leaves George as one hardy recent staple-although there could also be Albert, possibly?

They're certainly not going to name him Tyler.

I don't think they will now, at least not as a main name.
If I came out like they did and was asked if I was going to call him George, that's the last name I'd choose then

I think it should be Robert, someone on BBC suggested it and it's a good name.

Maybe an Arthur in there. Or even a Michael. Possibly a Philip.

Frederick Philip Charles James is one I've seen a few times.

Come on - they will only have a list of about 7 to choose from - and I expect that is one of them. I would stop speculating - you aren't going to be surprised.

    Nor is anyone else.

I think Arthur would be seen as tempting fate a little, with the name's grandiose mythological connotations!

I predict that they will give him a name and when they do they're bound to tell someone what it is.

Tarquin. But if they name him George then fair enough. I don't think they particularly care what we think though.

    Brilliant! :D:D

What about James? Although Alexander would be different to the usual group of names used by our royals.

George is an awful name for a baby. I say James would be good

"Common" as in popular or "common" as in chavvy?

Because I've not met many Roberts and those that I have are far from chavvy.

    What about James Arthur.

Then they can put him in for X Factor.

I saw Frederick suggested. It's not impossible, as it would be in a tradition of recent royal names.

I suggested Richard or John as old traditional royal names. Someone shot down John, due to a monarch of that name having a particularly bad reputation. But then, George the Fourth got a pretty bad press, too-as does Henry the Eighth, in retrospect, with his selfish brutal behaviour. Do we rule out Charles and James, too-because Charles the First and James the Second came croppers, and the other monarchs of those respective names aren't seen as very admirable kings either?

Richard would be nice given the recent re-emergence of Richard lll.

And it is a lovely name too. One of my personal favourites.

But I still think it will be Philip Charles Michael. Not necessarily in that order.

I don't think it will be James for a variety of reasons and I have no idea why Alexander is seemingly third favourite.
