hi folks sorry I'm the bearer of more bad news but I just have to bring this to our attention, I've been commenting about it on a other forum, it makes me sick:

Roast turkey is on the menu for inmates at Wakefield Prison, who will tuck into a three-day festive feast this Christmas.
Britain's worst criminals will wake up to a cooked breakfast on Christmas Day, followed by tomato soup and turkey with all the trimmings for lunch.

Their evening meal will be a selection of cheese and tuna sandwiches, followed by individually-wrapped Christmas cake.

No offense to the staff at my nan's home, most of them are good people who care a lot but I know for a fact she won't get treated to anything half as nice as what these scumbags are getting. If I had my way they'd get dry crackers and water for christmas dinner, why should they get more than that?!

    ?!

    Are you a sadist?

If you'd ever tasted prison food you wouldn't begrudge them one half decent meal once a year.:)

Well if you're of the Christian persuasion, or even if you're not but enjoy the traditions of Christmas, then where'd your spirit of forgiveness, charity and good-will-to-all-men go on this festive season?

    Bah humbug to you, too!

Doesn't look that luxurious. Not bread and water for sure but standard institution food. The prison will want to keep the prisoners as calm and chilled as possible so the staff have an easy shift.

Hopefully there will be razor blades and shards of glass in their food and drink.

The Prisoner's that is, not your Nan's. :p

Having heard a reliable second-hand account of one prison meal that was reported in the papers to be "a slap up steak dinner", when in fact it was processed crap, I'm taking this with a pinch of salt (ho ho ho). Even if it's all accurate, it doesn't sound that great anyway, so not really seeing the issue.

If it's anything like the 'luxury' christmas dinner our staff canteen serves up I'd be opting for dry crackers.

    yeah right...u jelly or something??

poisoned pens, declaring the condemned not yet condemned enough from regal chirs, tapping away at laptops, drinking the freedom and wasting such a gift with vitriol and repugnancy. They'd do well to stfu and drink in their liquor of priviledge. you know, go for a walk or some such shit that them prisoners dont have thechance to do

    *shameface*

    guilty of being hoomin

So what op they have a 'decent' meal ( most institutionalised food is crap) they are still in prison. I am sure you are exaggerating about your nan. Most homes I visit the residents are fed quite well

I'm sure the OP's Nan must need 24/7 specialist nursing care or equipment...otherwise she would be spending Christmas with her family wouldn't she?

Not spending time with family at christmas, being all unforgiving and uncharitable... perhaps they're one of these "de-Christmassing Christmas" peeps? You know, the ones that want to rename the season as "Winterval", etc...?

    :D

Perhaps you should have just bumped one of the identical threads to this one, which appear every December.

    Sorry, but....
...a selection of cheese and tuna sandwiches, followed by individually-wrapped Christmas cake

.....doesn't sound much of a feast to me. Perhaps I am missing something.

If you are that concerned about your grandmother's care, you really ought to do something about it, rather complaining about prisoners getting a cheese sandwich at Christmas.

It'll probably still be rubbish food as they have to mass produce it in a short space of time. As always the media love to sensationalise things.

There's people in prison for doing exactly what you want to do.

Luckily you haven't been caught yet.:)

Your poor nan, if only she had family or friends that cared enough about her to ensure that she had a nice christmas dinner :(

Don't see why they should be allowed such a luxury. No doubt the story will be an exaggeration but I sincerely hope what they get is cold processed slop.

    Rapists having turkey?

    Murderers having roast potatoes?

Grrrr. What is the world coming to eh?

They should only have chips, sausages and the occasional salad. Undressed of course. But thanks to the EU they probably will have mayonnaise.

How infuriating. The thought of someone convicted of fraud having mayonnaise!!!!!

    HUGE issue.
