I know most of the songs but don't have them on CD so I'll buy it. I just hope I like what he's done with this album and hope I like the remaining songs.

Love the cover, very nice, very George.

I agree he needs a new manager. Tony Gordon is too old school and George is never gonna get any fresh success if he doesn't move on.

I just think the record would do so much better if it had a few more songs that fans haven't previously heard. I keep hearing that George has written hundreds of unreleased songs but on this record all we get is stuff that's been heard before. I don't see why he couldn't find a couple more unheard things to put on there.
I think George needs to work with new people all around, as far as his musical partners too.
I am looking forward to the song he did with Mark Ronson called Somebody to Love. I'd like to see what a different producer can do for him. It's going to be on Mark's album which is coming out soon.

    Funny article about the movie.

    http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5j5zBpG96G8atpd3NagXFnCc2W6zg

I don't understand why actors make a big deal about kissing another guy. It sounds kind of homophobic to me..

But I think if Douglas had kissed the real Jon Moss he'd have liked it more than kissing Mathew Horne. I think Jon is much sexier and a better kisser than Mathew. Kind of an insult to Mathew to say it was professional and fine. Didn't Douglas like it just a little bit? Maybe Mathew is a lousy kisser!

I assumed Douglas Booth was gay.....just goes to show, you shouldn't assume!

I'm looking forward to the programme this Sunday. It'll be interesting to see how the whole band are portrayed. Meanwhile, George has been getting grief at Stanstead airport, a load of blokes have been following him singing Karma Chameleon! That must irritate him!! :p

There's a wonderful interview with George and Jon Moss in Radio Times. Great pictures of George and Jon with the people playing them in the movie.
Cutest quote from Jon " I've always believed in George. I still love him. I love him to pieces."
Jon gives a very open honest interview. I hope it changes the minds of some Boy George fans who have turned against him over the years.
I was very surprised to read in there that Jon said that a couple of years ago he had a nervous breakdown and underwent therapy. I never knew that or would have imagined that. He always seemed like a down to earth well adjusted person. I hope he is doing okay now.'

As far as our friend currysocks, it shows what I've always believed: watching too much pornography is bad for your brain.

Douglas Booth is straight; he was a couple of years below me at school. I always found him to be a bit of an arrogant guy though.

The cover and track list of the album is on this site.

I have to be honest and say I'm very disappointed. Most of these songs have been released before on the Twin Cd, the CC box set, or various singles, and the rest have been floating around the Internet for awhile.
I don't understand why George is releasing these again. A lot of his hard core fans already have this stuff.
Although I'm not the biggest dance music person, I would have bought it if it had new stuff. But now I won't.
George really needs a new manager to lead him in the right direction. Releasing a bunch of old songs isn't going to get anyone interested in him again.
George says he cares about his music, but he needs to try harder than this.
I do really like the cover of the album, though!

I remember George 1st time around and liked his music. Im 54 by the way ! But hes still getting fans....my grand daughter is 4 years old YES 4YEARS OLD and is besotted with him lol. Shes got 2 dvds one of his videos and she knows all the songs word for word Victims and Karma being her favorites. The other one is the Australian concert were George anounced that it would be Helens last concert with them.
Shes also got an original Boy George/CC scarf and a BG/CC patch...and today a hat arrived from my sister with plaits on it in diferent colours she loves it lol.
So George is still getting fans :D She comes home from school and unlike most kids who put cartoons on she puts one of the dvds on and sings and dances..Suppose it keeps her out of trouble lol.

I absolutely loved WATB the other night. Who else enjoyed it? I thought Douglas Booth was superb as George.

I loved it too. I've heard mixed things about it from other BG fans and even George himself on twitter, but I thought it was brilliant. I was skeptical about it at first, but it turned out great.
It was an affectionate portrait of everyone from that time period. It didn't show anyone in a bad light but really celebrated that whole era. I think that's why the public loved it and it got high ratings. It wasn't a mean spirited tabloid thing which I at first feared it might be.

Mat Horne who plays Jon Moss is interviewed in the new Gay Times and talks about meeting Jon and the movie.
    http://www.gaytimes.co.uk/Magazine/InThisIssue-articleid-6836-sectionid-731.html

I think that George is still getting younger fans but for the most part they seem to be into his older music with Culture Club and his earlier solo stuff. Unfortunately, his recent music hasn't been reaching people as much.

He was so great as George, such a good young actor. I loved every minute of it. Matt Horne was good as Jon Moss, the other characters were well cast too, although I wasn't too sure about Marc Warren playing a young Steve Strange when he's in his 40s! But oh well, it was soooo enjoyable. I wish there was a part 2!

He was ok, a bit wooden in his performance and his head shook a bit too much...he did this weird head movement all the time
I found him annoying to watch actually, all the dramatic turn around and say something smart moments were done a bit too much and when he had a fight with that guy and knocked him out and everyone cheered I thought I was watching some stupid fake American film

The best actors out of the lot of them were Marc Warren and Mark Gatiss. The story was a bit crap especially if you had read Georges biography, they changed a lot from his past. I think they got the make-up/clothes right.. that was it.
..and where was Philip Sallon?? the fact he wasn't in it proved the researchers did a crappy job

Philip Sallon needs to get a life. He'a 50 year old man who's complaining and whining because he wasn't in a tv movie. He was portrayed in Taboo. He got plenty of publicity for that. I've seen him at BG and CC concerts and he's always at the front making a spectacle of himself trying to get attention. What exactly is Philip's talent? He can't sing, write songs, design clothes. His only talent is being George's mate.
Jon Moss wasn't portrayed in Taboo, but did he complain? Oh, no, but he saw both the London and NYC productions because he wanted to support George. I find it interesting that everyone slammed Jon but he was the only real life person portrayed in this movie, who was willing to be open, honest, forthcoming about his emotions and his character, thereby helping Mat Horne give a real truthful performance.

Sorry to be pedantic but Phillip is 60 which makes it even worse. But I agree with you about him, I've always found him irritating and don't believe he's a particularly good friend to George.

I personally haven't really slammed Jon. I condemned him a couple of times for cheating on George with women but overall, I've always liked him. I'm glad him and George are friends now and that George has been able to be adult about the situation.

Matt Horne did give a good performance, I'll agree again but I thought Douglas Booth was very good. My only gripe with him was that he didn't sit down and chat with George about his character. I wonder why not? Arrogance of youth maybe? But even so, he put in a very good performance.

I'm glad you agree with me about Philip Sallon, Because I find a lot of Boy George fans seem to love him. But I think he actually encourages George to be more bitchy than he actually is.
Maybe I'm wrong, but from what I understand Douglas Booth was perfectly willing to sit down and chat with George and wasn't arrogant. But it was hard to organize because George is very busy travelling around the world and djing, whereas Jon is easier to get in contact with because he spends most of his time in London with his family,
Also I think George was a little more concerned about his public image than Jon is and was a little more hesitant to cooperate. I think George was a little more frightened of opening up than Jon. Which I can understand in a way because George is a target of the tabloids and Jon isn't.
I like Jon but I don't think he's perfect. In the past, he was more closed off and unwilling to talk about his feelings and emotions with the press. In a way, he and George have changed places over the years. George has become more private and closed off, but Jon has become more open and emotional in speaking about their relationship.

No doubt only because he's George's friend! I find a lot of BG fans very sycophantic. When I was on Facebook, they drove me mad, it was one of the reasons I had to come off there. They all had to be 'friends' with everyone from Lizzie Deane to Zee Asha, even though they had no idea what they were really like as people. Anyone else George took up with, the fans jumped on them. I found it quite pathetic.

I like George very much, as everyone knows, but I'm not going to be part of some almost-weird-sect who if George said jump off a cliff, they'd do it!

(This is no attack on George fans on here, since I'm well-acquainted with some of you and like you very much :) I also don't find George fans on here sycophantic. I stay away from the BG forums on his fan pages too for the very same reason.)

I don't think that's true of just BG fans though. I think it's true of fans of any artist who spend their time on forums of that artist. I go to forums of artists that I like sometimes to find news about them, but I try not to spend too much time on there because most of the fans are too obsessed.

Except for Madonna fans. They go too far in the opposite direction! On Madonna forums, her fans say horrible things about her and how she's had it now! I don't go to Madonna forums because I hate reading all the awful things they say.

As far as the movie, the only tiny criticism I had of it is I wish they could have shown a little bit more of the chemistry between the 4 members of CC and a little of Mikey and Roy's personalities. Mathew did an amazing job of playing Jon, but the guy playing Mikey acted geeky and nothing like him. Roy's personality was not shown at all, and they didn't even show him actually joining the band. I think if the movie had been maybe 15 minutues longer they could have shown a little more about the band. It was like they ran out of time to cover that.

I think the main reason why they didn't focus on Mikey or Roy was because the programme was really about George, although a little something on each of them as CC were getting going could've been added, I'd agree with that. Matthew played Jon very well, I wonder what Jon thought of it. I'd be interested to know.

I'm not sure what Jon thinks, but I assume he liked it. He visited the set when they were making it with his daughter. He saw the script ahead of time and knew what was in it. I can't see any reason why he wouldn't have liked it. His character was portrayed as quite charming, witty intelligent and to genuinely care about George.
I know one person who didn't like it though. Kirk Brandon! I guess Kirk Brandon was some kind of rock star, but honestly I never even heard of him or his music until George wrote about him in his autobiography. Too bad Kirk can't acknowledge his relationship with George. I guess he thinks if he does it will make him 100% gay and that would be like saying his marriage to his wife is a lie. But that's not true. You can have a same sex relationship earlier in life and but later get married and love your wife. Sexuality isn't black and white.

I agree sexuality isn't black and white. I don't know what got into Kirk. I always assumed he felt ashamed at having a relationship with another man and that it somehow diluted his masculinity. I don't know, I'd heard of him vaguely before all this stuff with George came out.

On another note, @OATZMM has been having a row with George on Twitter! Funny! He's accused George of having favourites with his fans which he does seem to do. I'm OK with it since he wouldn't know me from Adam but I guess it must pee off some of the more ardent supporters.
