  Stacey arrives in Walford age 15, moving in with her great-uncle Charlie after being thrown out by her mother Jean. She initially causes trouble through her promiscuous and immoral behaviour, but eventually begins to settle down when joined by her mother and older brother Sean. It is revealed that Stacey had a troubled childhood, due to Jean's bipolar disorder and the death of her father when she was 11, after which Sean abandoned the family and left Stacey as Jean's sole carer. In 2005 Stacey becomes heavily embroiled in the murder of Den Watts when she gives her cousin Zoe Slater a false alibi for his murder, landing innocent Sam Mitchell in prison. Sam's family and Den's adopted daughter Sharon Rickman pressure her into telling the truth, but eventually Den's wife Chrissie Watts is arrested for the murder.
  
  Despite initially being unimpressed by Walford newcomer Bradley Branning, Stacey falls in love with him and becomes pregnant with his child. Bradley insists on Stacey having an abortion, and their relationship subsequently deteriorates. Bradley breaks up with Stacey when she embarrasses him at a work party, and in revenge, she begins an affair with his father Max. Max agrees to leave his wife, Tanya, until he learns that she is pregnant. He then terminates the affair, after which Stacey and Bradley reunite, eventually marrying. Max propositions Stacey after the wedding ceremony and they share a brief kiss, which is recorded on Max's daughter Lauren's hidden video camera. Lauren gives a DVD of the recording to Bradley as a Christmas present, revealing the affair when he plays it in front of the family. Devastated, Bradley separates from Stacey for six months. He ultimately decides to give their marriage another chance, suggesting that they start a family. Stacey is uncertain and continues taking birth control pills. She shares a kiss with Callum Monks, which she regrets. Although she tries to make her marriage work, Stacey eventually breaks up with Bradley. She briefly dates Callum, but breaks up with him over his harsh treatment of her mother.
  
  Following the death of her best friend Danielle Jones, Stacey begins behaving erratically. She steals money from her family, seduces various men and drinks heavily. She is diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but is non-compliant with her medication and becomes paranoid, experiencing hallucinations. Stacey sleeps with Ryan Malloy and is attacked by Archie Mitchell; she believes that they are both planning to kill her. After attacking Archie with a broken glass and accusing her friends and family of planning to hurt her, Stacey is involuntarily committed to hospital, where she befriends Becca Swanson.
  
  Upon her release, Bradley admits that he still loves Stacey and they reconcile, but shortly after, Stacey discovers she is pregnant. She tells Bradley that Archie raped her and is the father; Archie is murdered that night by an unknown assailant. Stacey and Bradley agree to pretend the baby is theirs, and re-marry on 18 February 2010. A jealous Becca reveals the rape to Archie's daughter Ronnie Mitchell, who tells Stacey that Archie was infertile. Becca informs the police Bradley had a motive to kill Archie. He and Stacey attempt to flee Walford, but Bradley is caught by the police and falls to his death while trying to escape. A distraught Stacey confesses to Max that she killed Archie.
  
  Stacey decides not to tell Ryan that he must be the father of her baby. He exhibits a romantic interest in her, which is later revealed to be part of a bet with his girlfriend Janine Butcher. Upset by this revelation, Stacey goes into labour. Ryan stays with her as she gives birth to a daughter, whom she names Lily. When Ryan later rescues them from a fire at The Queen Vic, Stacey admits that he is Lily's father. Ryan initially refuses to act as a parent to her, but bonds with her when Stacey and a jealous Janine are arrested for fighting during a night out. Janine's jealousy escalates to kidnapping Lily, but Ryan convinces her to return her. He and Stacey become closer and kiss. During this time, Lauren discovers Stacey's guilt in Archie's death and records a confession on her phone. Stacey attempts to flee to Palma, Majorca, but Ryan stops her, telling her he wants to be with her. They begin an affair, which unbeknownst to them is discovered by Janine, who poisons Ryan in revenge. Ryan is hospitalised and on his return, he convinces Janine he still loves her but publicly declares his love for Stacey in The Queen Vic. Janine walks in as they are kissing. She concedes defeat until Lauren, who still believes Max is emotionally involved with Stacey, gives Janine the recorded confession. The next day, Janine attempts to play the recording in front of punters in The Queen Vic, but is has been recorded over because Lauren warned Max. Janine then reveals that Stacey killed Archie. Stacey leaves the pub in tears, followed by Ryan. She then confirms to him that it is true.
  
  The next day, Christmas Day, Stacey tells Jean she killed Archie, so Jean takes Lily away from her. Ryan convinces Stacey to leave with him as Janine will call the police. Stacey lets Janine in and she attempts to set Stacey up by grabbing a knife, placing it into Stacey's hand and stabbing herself. Stacey runs out of the house and Janine convinces Jean to call the police. Stacey contemplates suicide but Max stops her and says he will help her to escape. Stacey convinces Jean that Janine has framed her, and Ryan comes to take Stacey away, but Stacey says that events have happened too fast, and she is unsure whether she loves him. Ronnie and Roxy confront her, and Stacey confesses that she did kill Archie. Ronnie tells her to go, and Max drives her to the airport as the police arrive on the Square. At the airport, Max says he still loves her and offers to leave with her, but she tells him she only ever loved Bradley. She and Lily then leave the country on an aeroplane; where they went remains unknown. However, it is later revealed that they are in Mexico when Stacey phones Kat the following day.
  
  After more than 3 years away, it was revealed that Stacey was living in London with her daughter and a man named Luke. She was living a lie and they broke up when he found out about her past. Still on the run, Kat made a desperate attempt to get Janine to drop the charges which has resulted in her having to tell lies in court. Will she go through with it and if she does, will Janine stand by her word and drop the charges against Stacey?

  DOB: 30/10/83
  
  Rebecca Michael portrayed the character from 1989 until 1993, when the role was given to Alexia Demetriou for three years ie she went asian for 3 years. Brooks took on the role in 1999 and departed in 2004. After a three episode guest stint in April 2008 which saw the character reappear for her father Frank's (Mike Reid) funeral, Brooks agreed to reprise her role full-time, returning permanently in December 2008.
  
  Janine's mother, June, died of cancer when Janine was 3, and she went to live with her sister Clare. Her father Frank moved to Walford with her older siblings Ricky and Diane and married Pat Wicks. Clare moved to Manchester in 1989, leaving Janine with Pat and Frank.
  She was a troublesome child who threw tantrums, ran away, was a bed-wetter, sleepwalker, thief, compulsive liar and self-harmer, and hated Pat. Unable to discipline her, Pat forced Frank to take Janine to family therapy, which helped somewhat. When Frank had a breakdown and disappeared in 1994, Janine stayed with Pat but found her father's absence upsetting. She was overjoyed at his return and decided to move to Manchester with him in 1996. However, Frank returned to Walford again in 1998, leaving Janine with Clare again.
  Janine returned in 1999 to live with Frank and his new wife, Peggy. She set about coming between them, continuously trying to antagonise Frank with rebellious behaviour. She slept with Jamie Mitchell to infuriate him, then humiliated Jamie by spreading rumours about his inadequate prowess in bed. Frank abandoned Janine again in 2000 after the breakdown of his marriage to The Duchess.
  
  Homeless, Janine was taken in by Terry Raymond; they started a business together as estate agents. Terry saw Janine as a surrogate daughter but her constant manipulation tested his patience. Janine used him for money, purposefully dressed like his deceased daughter, Tiffany, ruined his relationships with women and tried to seduce him. Janine also began sleeping with Billy Mitchell until he ran out of money. All of this behaviour infuriated Terry. Janine then started using cocaine, pestering Terry for money to feed her habit. When Terry refused, she resorted to sleeping with her drug dealer, Lee Vickers, in exchange for cocaine; Vickers beat Terry when he tried to warn him off. Upon seeing Janine's lack of remorse, Terry threw her out and left Walford, ignoring her pleas for him to stay.
  
  Owing Vickers money for drugs, Janine turned to prostitution under the pseudonym "Blonde Bombshell". One of her clients, Matt, fell in love and proposed, then attempted suicide upon discovering she was still a prostitute. Ian Beale began using her services, but she later blackmailed him, threatening to tell his wife Laura unless he gives her money. Depressed, Janine began drinking heavily, and nearly died of alcohol poisoning. She gave up prostitution, but when Laura discovered she had been sleeping with Ian, she threw a pan of boiling milk in Janine's face Janine became agoraphobic as a result — she ate dog food because she was too afraid to go out and buy groceries.  She eventually got over this, aided by Billy. Janine hoped to rekindle their relationship but was devastated when he confessed he is in love with Little Mo. Her attempts to ruin their blossoming romance failed.
  
  Janine then got a job working at Barry Evans's car lot. She and Paul Trueman concocted a plan to fleece Barry of his money. She seduced Bazza and moved in with him but, unknown to him, she was sleeping with Paul too. Barry eventually proposed to Janine and she accepted, thinking that Barry had a life-threatening heart murmur. They married on New Year's Eve 2003 in Scotland, but Janine was furious to discover that Barry's illness was a false alarm. Barry forced Janine to take a stroll around the hills and cliffs, but Janine cracked and confessed everything. Barry, refused to believe that she didn’t love him and tried to embrace her. Repulsed, Janine pushed him away and he rolled down a hill, fatally hitting his head on a rock; Janine watched him die. #sliponshoes
  
  Janine inherited Barry's estate, leaving his son, Jack, with nothing. She had Barry cremated in Scotland, denying his friends and family a chance to pay their respects, making Barry's ex-wife Natalie suspicious. Natalie grew close to Paul Trueman, who was wracked with guilt about his role in Barry's demise. Spurred on by Natalie, Paul eventually went to the police implicating Janine. She was arrested but released, due to lack of evidence. She took great pleasure in telling Natalie that she had gotten away with murder, but telling Fat Pat was her downfall. Pat was also good friends with Laura Beale, who had an on-going feud with Janine. Janine further marginalised herself from all the locals by reporting Laura for benefit fraud and announcing it in the Vic. Janine was seen fighting Laura just before Laura accidentally died after falling down the stairs and Laura was found with Janine's skin under her nails following their fight. Although Janine was with Pat at the time of death, Pat avenged Barry's murder by refusing to give Janine an alibi despite Janine begging for help and blaming her actions on her hard childhood but Pat branded her pure evil. In desperation, Janine went to Paul and offered to sleep with him in return for an alibi, but, shameful about his own role in Barry's death, he threw her out, and she was arrested by police waiting outside as she tried to flee the from the square with a bag of money. Janine was then charged with Laura's murder and remanded in custody in May 2004.
  
  Janine stood trial off-screen in 2005 and Frank tried to persuade Pat to tell the truth in court, giving Janine an alibi. Pat refused but a conversation with Laura's mother, who was desperate for the truth, forced Pat to tell the court what really happened. Janine was released but abandoned Frank outside the courtroom.
  Janine returned for Frank's funeral in April 2008, and was angry to find that he hadn’t left money in his will; she scattered his ashes before departing. In December 2008, Pat and Ricky discovered that Janine was masquerading as a Jewish orphan named "Judith Bernstein" in order to marry an elderly Jewish man named David for his money. They traced Janine to the synagogue where the wedding was taking place. Just after they were pronounced man and wife, Pat declared Janine a fraud before the congregation with the famous line "she's as Jewish as a bacon sandwich". David had a heart attack and died, and a then homeless Janine had no choice but to return to Walford.
  
  She made various enemies, among them Jack Branning, whom Janine drugged and then restrained to gain a taped confession of his past misdemeanours, which she used as blackmail to gain control of Walford's car lot. Pat and Jack usurped her, reclaiming the business, and in anger Janine sped off in her car and accidentally hit Danielle Jones, killing her. Although Janine was not charged, Danielle's mother, Ronnie Mitchell couldn’t forgive her. In retaliation towards this rejection, Janine teamed up with Ronnie's ostracised father, Archie; they made plans to ruin the Mitchell family by taking The Queen Vic from them. When they manipulated Sam Mitchell into breaking her bail terms, the Mitchells lost bail surety and faced financial ruin. Ian Beale provided the Mitchells with a loan on condition they used their pub as collateral. However, Janine had sex with Ian recording the tryst, then blackmailed him, threatening to show his wife Jane unless he sold the Mitchell loan to Archie. Archie subsequently took control of the Vic when the Mitchells were unable to meet the terms of the loan.
  
  Meanwhile, Janine and her flat mate Ryan Malloy - whom Janine was sleeping with — planned to fleece Archie. Archie and Janine announced their engagement but on Christmas Day 2009, Archie who had realised Janine was intending to con him — threw her onto the street leaving her distraught. That same day, Archie was murdered by an unknown assailant. Janine became a suspect for his murder, though she denied it and feigned distress over Archie's death. While she attempted to frame Ian and the Mitchells for the murder, Peggy attempted to frame her, planting evidence in her flat, which lead to an arrest but no charge. In the end, Janine was cleared and Bradley Branning was held falsely responsible for the murder, although, unknown to everyone, Bradley's wife Stacey Slater was Archie's actual killer.
  
  When Ryan confessed his love for Janine, she recoiled, but when he attempted to leave Walford, she admitted she loved him too. Despite Janine nearly straying on her hen night, she and Ryan married, but marital happiness was short-lived when Ryan discovered he was the father of Stacey's daughter Lily. A feud erupted between Janine and Stacey when Janine reported her to social services for neglecting Lily. Later Janine kidnapped Lily, suggesting to Ryan they leave Walford with the child to separate Ryan from Stacey. Her games pushed Ryan and Stacey closer together and they began an affair. When Janine found out, she vowed to kill them both. She bought sedatives and poisoned Ryan. He was left bedridden but managed to escape and ended their marriage publicly after being released from hospital. Hurt and angry, Janine discovered Stacey was Archie's murderer and went public with this, but was largely ignored with no concrete evidence. Desperate, Janine visited Stacey; she stabbed herself to try to frame Stacey for her own attempted murder, but Stacey escaped the country before arrest. Blaming Janine for Stacey's departure, Ryan refused to reunite with Janine and attempted to kill her by removing her oxygen tubing when she was hospitalised. She was saved by Ricky's chance arrival, but both Ricky and Pat denounced Janine's actions when she admitted her injuries were self-inflicted.
  
  Ricky and Janine received news that their maternal, rich, grandmother, Lydia, was ill and in need of care. Janine took her grandmother in, with the ulterior motive of inheriting her fortune. Janine learned that Lydia was very similar to herself and they both put on an act of hating each other. Janine eventually admitted she loved her gran, but Lydia's health quickly deteriorated. Janine discovered Lydia had left all her money to charity, but admitted to Lydia she no longer cared during a heartfelt conversation. Before she died, Lydia explained that she wanted to look after Janine after her mother died but Pat and Frank wouldn't allow it. Janine was devastated by Lydia's death but her family (including Pat) blamed her for killing her. On Ryan's behest, Janine was questioned by police, but released without charge and Janine was stunned when she inherited Lydia's estate, making her a millionaire.
  
  Janine bought various properties and businesses; she started a property management company and a women's fitness centre with her boyfriend Michael Moon. She also bought a share in the nightclub R&R, making Phil Mitchell her reluctant partner; both clashed over the running of the club. When Pat needed money to pay debts, Janine gave her a loan, insisting Pat used her house as collateral. She later brought the loan payment deadline forward, refusing to believe Pat was dying. Despite a period of animosity, Janine made her peace with Pat before her death, with Pat convincing a pregnant Janine to keep Michael's child. Janine accepted Michael's marriage proposal after he reluctantly agreed to sign a prenuptial agreement. When Jean Slater told everyone, including Janine, that Michael stole her money and lied to her, Janine refused to believe Jean's claims and dismissed them because Jean is bipolar. However, Janine's enemy, Kat Moon, returned and demanded Janine repay the funds or she’d go to the police. Michael eventually confessed the truth to Janine on her wedding day and offered her an ultimatum: that she ripped up the pre-nuptial agreement or the wedding was off. Janine was torn between the two but eventually agreed to cancel the pre-nup; Janine and Michael married but she went into labour 11 weeks early at the wedding reception. At the hospital, Janine underwent a caesarean and her daughter was put into an incubator, which distressed Janine who wanted to see her. The baby was named Scarlett but after a breakdown with Ricky, she decided to change Scarlett's name to Patricia in memory of Pat and had her christened.
  Janine hoped to make peace with Jean so wrote her a cheque for double what she was owed, however, Michael tore it up and paid her the correct amount, plus £1000 from Janine. Janine later began to doubt Michael's intent when he asked to be a signatory on the business accounts and bought a sports car, so ordered Billy to change the combination on the office safe. Michael's strange behaviour continued, leaving Janine convinced he was having an affair. She confronted him, offering him a suitcase of money and saying that if he really loved her, he would refuse to take it. Michael was furious and told Janine that she had no chance of being a good mother to their baby. Believing him to be right, Janine packed her bags and handed Scarlett to Michael, taking the money and leaving. Michael was informed that Janine had transferred all the money from her bank accounts and had ordered that her business Butcher's Joints be closed down, transferring all her proprieties over to another estate agent, leaving Michael with nothing. However, Janine has now returned for her daughter and means business.
  
  She tells Michael that she is back for Scarlett, and says he will be hearing from her lawyer. Janine manipulates Michael into giving her custody of Scarlett and she denies Michael parental access. She then hires Michael's former nanny, Alice Branning to look after Scarlett, pleasing Michael as Alice is on his side. When Janine catches Alice stealing jewellery from her house, Alice explains she is stressed because Michael is putting demands on her to see Scarlett, and she has been letting him do so. Janine agrees that it is better for Scarlett in the long-run to have a relationship with both her parents. At Ian Beale's restaurant opening, Janine, as an investor, has the sign and name of the restaurant changed from "Ian Beale @ Le Square" to "Scarlett's" which pleases Michael. They apparently call a truce, but Janine then leaves in a car with Scarlett, telling Michael that she may never return.
  
  Michael eventually tracks Janine down and she returns to Walford. She employs Danny Pennant, who Michael is jealous of, and buys a share in Michael's boxing club. Janine has sex with Danny but tells him that it is a one off. She rehires Alice as her nanny, unaware that she is still being manipulated by Michael, but fires her again when she tells Janine that she had sex with Michael. The increasing animosity between Janine and Michael leads to her taking out an injunction out against him. Michael then begins to plot kill Janine, and involves Alice in his plans. Alice has second thoughts and tells Janine of Michael's plans. When Janine confronts Michael he tries to strangle her, leading to Alice stabbing Michael in the back to stop him. Alice then leaves to answer the door, but realising Michael is still alive, Janine stabs him again, killing him. Alice believes she killed him, and Janine tells the police that Alice stabbed Michael twice and also attacked her, and tells Alice that the real story is something her mind created. Alice's brother, Joey Branning, seduces a lonely Janine in a bid to extract the truth from her, but fails. Janine's former step-brother David Wicks suspects that Janine is guilty of the murder, so he manipulates her into allowing him to stay at her house, and then into admitting that she killed Michael. David promises to keep her secret, but has secretly recorded the confession on his phone. Meanwhile, Janine is planning to buy The Queen Vic and sells her share of R&R and her car to do so. David then reveals the recording to Janine and blackmails her into giving him the £250,000 she has raised. Janine panics and tries to kill David by hitting him with a car. However, he suffers only minor injuries. After she hands over the cash, he threatens to call the police anyway. She convinces him to give her a day to get away, but Carol finds David's phone and plays the confession. She gives the phone to Joey, who calls the police and Janine is arrested for Michael's murder.
  
  Last month, Kat visited Janine in prison. Kat begged her to retract her statement so that formal criminal charges on Stacey would be dropped. Janine says she will only consider doing so if Stacey visits her in prison. When Kat and Stacey did visit Janine, she agreed to retract her statement on condition that they lie to the police that Alice killed Michael. Will Janine be set free?

  amazes me that with all the crap the BBC put on its 4 channels there is no 30 minute slot for a repeat of Eastenders.
  
  I bet there is a slot for yet another Bargain Hunt repeat though lol!

  I'm trying not to expect too much for tonight even with the hype of the trailers. Something tells me a part of me will be disappointed with at least one of the outcomes. Hope I'm proved wrong, but I won't hope too hard.

  I think they are testing the waters a little. If there's No BBC 3 repeat where will the viewers go.
  Live, Omnibus,I Player or Recordings
  
  It should ensure that next weeks episodes time-shifting much more in the officials (Just to note that last week one episode added over 1million on top of it's main showing to rate at 8.1m (Does not include BBC3,Omnibus or I Player showings) which is higher then usual (Except at xmas and huge episodes like the 25th)
  
  Bargain Hunt rates pretty well on Daytime TV and with BBC1+1 coming that will be an 'extra' repeat anyway. I think we might find an EastEnders repeat on daytime tv or BBC2/Late night BBC1
