I forgot to mention arguably my favourite tune of 1985:-

    "19" by Paul Hardcastle.:blush::blush:

I quite like that-but like Rory Bremner's cricketing send-up of it even more!:D

In addition to "Some Like It Hot", The Power Station's follow-up single wasn't bad either-their cover of Marc Bolan and T-Rex's "Bang a Gong (Get It On)". And I forgot for 1985, John Fogerty's "Centerfield"

I like quite a few songs you've mentioned so far. My potential top 20 that that stand out so far are:

    How Soon is Now?
    Money for Nothing
    Running Up that Hill/ Cloudbusting
    Things Can Only Get Better
    Slave to Love
    Into the Groove
    Imagination
Road to Nowhere (thanks Rob for agreeing this was the best song of '85!)
    Life in a Northern Town
    Animotion
    Say I'm Your No 1
    Sisters Are Doing for Themselves
    Slave to the Rhythm
Rage to Love (I even prefer it to Kids in America!)
    Election Day
    See the Day
    Radio Africa
    Roses
    Feel So Real

As it is, I have been reminded of 1985 as the days of the week in 2013 are ibdentical eg Boxing Day on a Thursday both years! I may list some more songs from 1985 on Sunday.
