Is £100 too much to pay for a standard male haircut?

A friend of mine paid £100 for a standard haircut.

I told him he must be crackers. What's the most you guys have paid?

Obviously women pay more because they require more attention I guess. ;)

£100 would cover me for several years of haircuts! Think the most I've ever paid was a tenner, and that was only down to London pricing.

    I know, it's madness isn't it.

When I looked at his hair I said, 'that's a tenner at the most!'

I heard Beckham once paid about £3,000 for a haircut. I don't know if that's true or not.

But where there's money sometimes there's no sense.:D

I pay £34 for my hair to be cut by a Principle Stylist at a decent salon (5 stars in the good salon guide) and even when I get it coloured it is still less than £100.

Do you seriously get a better cut for £100 than a tenner? More money than sense.

Unless you are having some special treatment done then I won't pay more then a tenner plus a tip. But then again I go to a traditional barbers rather in hair saloon.

I used to go to Toni&Guy and paid £35 for a cut and blowdry but I then went to the local barbers and he did the exact same job for £8!

I'd say 20 quid for a man - tops (including washing it) and even that's pushing it....

Does the £100 include extras, nudge nudge?

£8.50 is all I pay in my little village, think your mate has been stung.:)

I only pay around £6 for my haircut.

Even my sister doesn't pay £100 for her haircut and she has the full works done at a salon.

I pay £16 maximum down my local male only hairdressers in SW London. That's for a wash, cut, style/wax. Only if I needed a super-duper haircut would I go above £30-40, but £100!? That's bonkets unless you have a lot of hair and have it coloured/styled regularly.

you have to be joking, lying, gullable or down right crazy to pay that much. we have a stylist come to our own home, she styles 5-6 people in 1 and a 1/2 hours (two or three males and two or three females. she charges " £20 -25 for the lot) :D

I've found in upscale salons you do get little extras, like a head massaging wash and condition, plus neck and shoulder massage, so if spending that much is affordable, why not? Someone struggling to pay the bills, a local barber is enough...

I've used a number of barbers and have paid £10 a time for over ten years by saying "keep the change".

Of course it used to be £7 for the cut and a £3 change as a tip and that's been slowly whittled down over the years so it's now £9 for a cut and £1 change.

£100 for my wife to have her hair cut, styled, coloured and blown dry is fair enough.

For me to spend £100 for a grade 2 all over, no way. :D
