in the 90's kiss had a reputation for its specialist music shows and many of their djs went on to host shows on radio 1 (e.g. jules, danny rampling, fabio, grooverider, westwood, Trevor nelson, dave pearce, tayo, sarah hb, seb fontaine, giles peterson).

In the past year kiss has been ammending its specalist output slightly and now radio 1 is doing the same. The changes to the specliast show line up and radio 1 this week seem to follow what kiss has been doing in the past year.

loose cannons axed from kiss last year - kissy sell out axed from radio 1 this year,

ali b and Patrick forge left kiss - giles peterson leaves radio 1

kiss introduce 'kiss presents' showcasing specalist djs and live sets - radio 1 introduce the residency.

Kiss axes the trance / hard house shows - radio 1 axe judge jules and reduce Kutski shows.

radio 1 introduce a specalist dubstep show following kiss as the first legal station to do so

Maybe but I bet radio One is stil ahead of kiss in terms of geriatric DJs!

Tim Westwood (and Pete Tong) used to be on Capital in the 80s.

I think there about equal. Shame Kissy Sell Out has gone he was an asset at Radio 1. Kiss seem to have juggled a lot of stuff around, I guess their all moving with the times.
