U2
Nickleback
Scouting for girls
The Script
Example
Mumford and sons
Alicia Keys
Avril Lavigne

I think they mean 'artists whose own personal catalogue of songs all sound similar' even though quite a few of those artists don't belong on there.

One Direction. although they have two kinds of songs

    1. Fast with loud lad shouting songs.
    2. Slow, emotional..I'm going to die if you don't love me ballads.

One Direction's songs certainly all sound the same.

This is controversial I know but pretty much all Beatles songs sound the same to me!

"Last Nite" sounds nothing like "12:51" which sounds nothing like "Juicebox" which sounds nothing like "One Way Trigger".

Considering the progression they made that's a ridiculous statement. They were practically a different band by the time they finished. From the likes of "Twist and Shout" to "Come Together" via "Tomorrow Never Knows" and "A Day In The Life". Incredible variation.

AC/DC since Back in Black has been a ''tried and tested'' effective but repetitive formula.

Every single One Direction song sounds the same. I can't tell the difference between any of their songs (apart from Little Things but that sounds like every other Ed Sheeran song ). 1D annoy me so much!

It's the auto-tune that is to blame. Most popular music sounds like the nightmare scenario portrayed for the future by old movies such as 1984.

Yeah, 'I Will Follow' really sounds just like 'With or Without You' sounds just like 'The Fly' sounds just like 'Sweetest Thing' sounds just like 'Vertigo'..... Clearly never actually listened to U2 properly, have you?

Can't speak for the rest but I suspect you are mistaking recognisable sound for same sound?

David Guetta and now Calvin Harris sound the same.

    Will.I.am with his Illuminati pop.

There is a lack of originality today as producers are not very adventorous.

P!nk and Maroon 5 need to be added to the list.

It was ok for his first few albums, but now he is on album 5, he needs to kick it up a notch and really turn the jazz crooner genre around.

I'm no U2 fanatic, in fact, I wish Bono would piss off somewhere and not come back but The Fly sounds nothing like Desire or With Or Without You.

I mean not one of those lists has the current crop of autotune/rap/voice distorters which have dominated the charts since 2005 or dance music with the same beat but different words.

I can't even think of two Beatles songs that sound the same.

    Unless you mean these two:

Mmmm - see what you mean.

Green Day songs do not sound the same. Basket Case sounds nothing like American Idiot.

The sounds sound very diffreent on the American Idiot album.

Although not a band that I love, I don't think The Script songs sound the same either.

I agree, Green Day songs don't sound the same, they are much worse now than they used to be.

This thread should be retitled 'acts I really really don't like therefore all their music sounds the same'
