Is there ever a UK Television equivalent of the Hollywood "Golden Raspberry" awards ??

Should we start setting categories so we can then vote after Dec 31st.

Hopefully someone like Charlie Brooker or Grace Dent might get involved and we can collectively sell the TV rights !!

Obvious categories are:

Worst new sitcom (The Wright way is most obvious candidate)
Worst new drama
Worst Actor, sitcom
Worst Actress, sitcom
Worst Actor, drama
Worst Actress, Drama
Worst Actor, Soap
Worst Actress, Soap
Worst presenter, news / magazine/ current affairs
Worst newcomer, any category
Worst scene
Worst stunt/ special effect
Worst new character, soap
Worst new character (existing drama)
Worst new character, sitcom (new or existing - so few episodes in a UK sitcom)
Worst set
Worst camera work
Worst live show production (inc. sports)
Most patronising consumer/ food / property show

Any I have missed ??

2013 is a golden year for bad TV so far !!
Let's celebrate.

Also - what name or acronym for the awards??

Best I could think of was..
the "Digital Spy P.O.P awards) (short for "Pile of Poo".)
A "Poppy" for short.

The name needs a re-think. Given the amount of fuss made if any TV presenter doesn't wear one, naming an award for being rubbish after them would cause middle England to explode in rage.

Good point - but they seem to think "SLUTS" is perfectly acceptable so maybe something with those initials !!

Just call them the "Poop" awards.

They'd be known as The poopies!

Truth to tell I would be hard pushed to name ANYBODY in any of those categories ...I never see a soap I never see a " drama " ( what does that even mean really ? )...99% of ALL television is drivel :(....cookery, property, property, cookery and...." im having an affair and im plotting and scheming me "..." oh thats funny im having an affair and im plotting and scheming as well....and incidentally your kid isnt your kid , its your best friends brothers uncles cousins sisters dads kid ....possibly "....on and on and on and on.

    * walks off muttering *

Worst camera work - the finale of Splash, because I wanted to see more shots of Gabby Logan in the pool.

I'd nominate Jeremy Kyle for all of those.

Who probably only got the job cos she's married to the guy who plays Mrs Brown

Surely the Worst presenter, news / magazine/ current affairs award would be given to Kay Burley every year from now until Doomsday??

Actually I was thinking of the younger blonde one who plays Betty (son Marks's wife) - but then she is married to the one who pays Buster in real, who is also his son.

Fiona Phillips surely would have had a nod or two in past years
