The BBC's tennis coverage is pathetic. The second biggest sport in the world (is that a fair comment?) being played to a ridiculously high level and all the BBC are interested in is one player. Am I correct in thinking BBC One haven't even sent their team to Melbourne and their coverage is coming from London? Cringeworthy.
PR by Simon Fuller....just proves this shameless couple are now fully pledged publicity game ****. Even though Murray is still very unlikeable with Rado watches as the best Fuller can come out with as his sponsor.^_^. And that fiancé....dearie me.^_^

Why would they send a team over when they only have the rights to one or two matches?

Their coverage seems fine to me.
TV licence payers should be pleased with the money saving. Why pay comentators to sit in a box in Melbourne when they can do the same job back in Manchester?

Because they can't do the same job at all? Because it's one of the big events of the year in one of the biggest sports in the world? The BBC aren't usually guilty of doing things by halves. Every other sporting event of this size - and many far smaller events - gets proper coverage so why should this be different? The event was only on Eurosport in the UK so why the BBC wouldn't outbid them for coverage of the whole tournament is beyond me. They should be covering tennis properly - as I said earlier I think it's the second biggest sport in the world - not just half-heartedly covering Andy Murray in a viewer-grabbing way.
