I think you're being played at your own game on the KP thread. You can't debate with hate.

I didn't take it as criticism Sam and I am sorry if I misunderstood you... but to me a mini me is a child dressed/styled identically to the adult they are supposed to be representing... little Ant and Dec for example... imo opinion neither Harper or Princess fit that criteria despite the press inferences because neither KP/VB dress their daughters as miniature versions of themselves... in fact it is good to see them dressing their daughters in sensible age appropriate clothes. It is actually easier to have a boy mini me because on the whole adult male clothes are very similar to boys clothes and young boys usually want to look like dad until they hit their teens... whilst girls want to do the same thing sensible mothers do not let them outside of their homes.

I have stated time and again that imo KP never took any of her children out of the media despite her fine words... she still profits financially (if she is selling twitpics) and more importantly in promoting a certain image of herself.

The posters might have an easier time of separating the twonks if they could leave each other alone but as long as the titting and tatting continues they will be perceived with a great degree of twisted togetherness.

Disclaimer... everything I have said about KP applies to PA as well which is why we as posters have such a hard time separating them.

Thanks LAO, certainly agree with what you have so say other than I have a slightly wider definition of mini-me. Also wonder how much the tit for tatting is driven by the press but Pete and Kate do have it in their power not to play along so yes it's up to them to stop referencing each other.

Tbh, much of their earning power is still linked to each other. On their own, they're a pair of has beens but there is still mileage to be made out of slagging each other off.

While they both get column inches out of sniping at each other, they won't stop.

The media will always link them though. They're like the low rent version of Brad and Jen

Very true Blondie, though 'Brangelina' is probably a stronger brand than Brad n' Jen was so perhaps they just need their new relationships to catch the public's imagination (not looking hopeful so far)

I know this is off topic but I always found it strange how Jen is always linked to the Brangelina scandal (can't think of a better word) and Brad isn't. I do there is a whiff of misogyny regarding the reporting on Jennifer. Every relationship she was in it was 'poor Jen, dumped again, can she ever find a man?'. Brad was the one who had the affair and yet he got off things virtually scott free, yet I can't help but think if Jen had done that she would have been ripped apart and vilified.

Very good point, Grace. But I'd ask if the spite isn't coming from their *fans, not PA and KP? The childishness is coming from the latter, certainly, and the pettiness, and the pathetic and desperate attention-seeking (all the things to mock and laugh at) but it's the fans who are igniting the spite and the venom with their relentless tit-for-tat war. Look at all that rubbish on twitter, look at Blondie's comment earlier re some FMs actively and deliberately baiting in order to get people they disagree with banned!!? FFS.

*I'm obviously not referring to the reasonable fans. You know who you are.

But you do also make a very good point re the recent barrel-scraping both PA and KP have engaged in. Very little to laugh at.

I admit I have not been posting on DS for very long, so I am a bit miffed and confused at all this talk of spite and bullying amongst members. I find it quite sad that adults are getting like this over some z listers who deserve nothing but satirising. Can't we just all get along??:confused::confused:

The problem is when people feel they have invested in Zelebs they get very defensive about them - almost as if the behaviour of the zeleb reflects on them.

Rather than accept that other people see them differently, some get aggressive in their defence, or go on the attack - hence the amount of times people have been "accused" of being secret fans or of working for either side.

It's just a forum. These are just threads about two not very bright, very self obsessed individuals whose whole raison d'etre is to create headlines and gain attention. Not worth a ban, not worth attacking people, certainly not worth looking for some ten year old porn starring a plastic muppet and a hairy toe.

Absolutely Grace. I'd love it if we could get back to all playing nicely. :)

What Artless has said is spot on. sadly, it seems that people getting along and having a joke with each other is being seen as being a clique rather than just people with similar views having fun.

It's a showbiz gossip forum and most of these zelebs are good for nothing but laughing at. No one should take any of it seriously :)

Excellent post artless, I found myself nodding through all of it.

I totally agree that people see the celebrities they like as a reflection on them. I think because of these two selling so much of their lives, and being so open that the lines have been blurred. The celebs I am genuinely a fan of I know very little about them personally, so its easy to just see them as someone whose work I admire. But with these two because we know all the gory details, we know pretty much everything, so I can see why the fans see them as something more then simply a z lister, almost like a friend. So if you cricitise them it goes straight past the 'that's your opinion' and right into the emotional.

Reading the last two pages is eye-opening and disappointing and a bit odd and creepy really. Anyone sending bizarre, threatening PMs deserves banning; permanently IMO. The misogyny doesn't need my comment - anyone can read that thread and make their own mind up.

PA gets a hell of a lot of stick on here, of course he does - but I don't see the spite and malice that one sees on other threads.

Of course this is a total assumption, but I wonder if its because KP is a woman, and this forum is mostly women. IMO women are far more critical of other women then they are of men, especially if they are mothers. PA gets a lot of stick on here, but because he is a man it doesn't have quite the same amount of venom.

And perhaps it seems worse because KP has so few defenders, so threads become nothing more than a long diatribe.

The wording of that does sound like something out of 1984, it is quite The Party/Orwellian :eek:

    Agreed.
I don't know why I was targetted other than my opinion differing from the views of others.

    I dislike PA's posturing.
Why should that be a problem and put me on a 'hitlist'?

I'm only into posting on a forum about the abomination that is Andre.

I think you'll find the hitlist is very small, it more multiple personalities R Us. It's the tells in the posting styles.

that's awful DD, I'm not sure but are you able disable PM's from certain people? If so then ignore and keep pointing and laughing. As many have said, it used to be a fun forum and I'm sure there are many who would prefer the forum to return like that. :)

I'd kinda agree with that if the poison wasn't so off-putting.

I don't want to play in that playground at all since my views are not nurtured in a sewer.
