I was going to say Michael Jackson and Moonwalker, but it wouldn't surprise me if the most movie-like thing hel'll be remembered for is the Thriller video, even though it wasn't an actual movie.

'The Wiz' is probably his best film, and that's not all that great.

    Madonna- Evita
She had a shambles of a movie career, but it is her best known role and film to date anyway

I would say a lot more people would associate her with Desperately Seeking Susan first.

I always think of Desperately Seeking Susan whenever Madonna and movies is mentioned. I know Evita was a big deal for her, but it came sometime later, so maybe it's an age/generation thing.

Always been keen to get her songs on soundtracks as well, of course: Crazy for You, Live to Tell, Into the Groove etc

See for me it's who's that girl with madonna real childhood fave

Director-wise, I'd say Kevin Smith peaked with his debut Clerks...
I thought Mallrats, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks 2 and Zack & Miri Make A Porno were much funnier than Clerks. I can't wait to see Clerks 3.

Others I'd add to the list include Alicia Silverstone (Clueless)

She's the first one I thought of.
Nia Vardalos from ''My Big Fat Greek Wedding''.

Absolutely! She did also star alongside Toni Collette in Connie and Carla but other than that...

From a directing point of view, there's Orson Welles. Citizen Kane is often regarded as one of the greatest films of all time and after that Welles' career as a director seemed to be downhill with the odd flash of the old genius.

Spitting Image did s kit in the 80's about Orson Wells living his life backwards. They cited the same thing you have. He made his magnum opus first.

I was juggling whether to say that, but it's the most iconic and only role of her career where people actually had something nice to say about her. Plus the musical it's self has a strong following.

    Brad Davis in Midnight Express.

    A fantastic film.
I've only seen it once and I don't really want to see it again, but it was outstanding IMO.

    The definitive one hit wonder

Carrie Henn as Newt in Aliens. Also with one of the most famous lines.

We'd better get back, 'cause it'll be dark soon, and they mostly come at night... mostly.

It's not uncommon for child actors to do just one or two significant roles but deciding not to make a career of it, like Mara Wilson.

    F. Murray Abraham won the Best Actor Oscar for his role as Salieri in Amadeus, and although he has continue to work since then, he seemed to have peaked with that film. He also won the Golden Globe for Best Actor, Kansas City Film Critics Award, The Los Angeles Film Critics Award, as well as receiving a BAFTA Best Actor Nomination.

Abrahams relatively low profile film career since winning his Oscar has widely been described as "the Oscar jinx. " According to Film Critic Leonard Maltin, professional failure following an early success is referred to in Hollywood circles as "The F. Murray Abraham Syndrome."

He's in the TV show Homeland.

Agree, he's no one hit wonder, but should have been bigger than he was. I'd put Ray Liotta in the same catagory

Starship Troopers. Not seen the lead guy from that in anything since.

The scientist guy did end up playing a really annoying character on how I met your mother though, and Denise Richards was in a few films where she just seemed to play the generic hot girl :p

Wes Bentley I would totally disagree with - he's the opposite of this thread, he managed to pull his career back out of a lull. He had American Beauty, then battled a drug addiction for years, but recently he got clean and has been in The Hunger Games, Interstellar and American Horror Story. Seems to be doing very well second time around.

I would add Michael Schoeffling to the list, who was in Sixteen Candles and Mermaids. He gave up acting to make his own furniture.

Louise Fletcher in one flew over the cuckoo's nest.

    What a performance though.
