Ouch... That hurts. Bedtime Stories is amazing!

When it first came out Bedtime Stories was, obviously, my most played CD for several months. It sounded so different from Erotica it was kind of refreshing to realise that she had survived the severe lashings she got from the media and fans following on from that "1992" era. But, also Bedtime Stories was noteable for some real urban sounds which was unusual for Madonna. But, because of those urban sounds, the album has lost any relevance it once had for me. It sounds dated and when you listen to Erotica, which amazingly sounds fresh and new even today, and then listen to BS afterwards, BS seems rushed and contrived. As if Madonna is apologising for an era that she remains proud of.

    Each to our own.

We all have albums we have that definied our lives and or dont really have that passion for....but tbh i love every Madonna album .

Yes, I'm not too big on Bedtime Stories either. I guess it's because I'm not that into R&B and urban music. There are a few songs on BS that I really like. But they tend to be the less R&B ones like Bedtime Story and Sanctuary which are more electronic or trip hop and in a way hinted the direction she would go on ROL.

BS was a sort of apology for the Sex Book.

Now, a question. 1992 was the Queen's "Annus horribillus".
    But which Queen?

Well, the answer of course is Elizabeth II AND the real one!
Both had rotten years in 1992.

I agree i love that section of the BS album with the ambience and Trip Hop elements...like if she made an album in 1996 she may have progressed into the Acid House styles maybe.....but instead she propelled right into the heavy stuff...and thank f*ck! ROL!
