Dropkick Murphys' 'Shipping Out to Boston' in 'The Departed'- complimented the tone of the film so well.

Tears for Fears' 'Head Over Heels'- 'Donnie Darko'

The techno score playing during the long nightclub shotout scene in 'Collateral'.

The score playing at the beginning of the closing credits in 'Traffic.'

I also loved a song from 'The Lovely Bones.' It played over the scene where Saorsie Ronan's character met the other young victims of her killer in heaven- can anyone tell me the name of this song- it's beautiful. Believe it or not the first time I heard it was playing in a trailer for the 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' remake.

Ravenous sound track, matched odd and disturbing feel perfectly.

    The Deer Hunter score

more recent, Inception, the pumping feel to the score later in the film made it feel like a living breathing animal. that should have won the best sound track oscar easily, couldnt believe The Social Network got it

    There are so many!

Most of the music by John Williams, John Barry and Hans Zimmer plus a few others.

    Particularly:

John Williams' 'heroic' themes: Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark, "The Imperial March" from The Empire Strikes Back and also his touching piano finale ("For Always") to A.I. Artificial Intelligence.

John Barry's main themes to On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Chaplin.

There a quite a few Hans Zimmer favourites but I suppose I'd have to pick Rain Man, Gladiator, Inception and the tracks "I See Dead People in Boats" from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, "Chevaliers de Sangreal" from The Da Vinci Code and "Journey to the Line" from The Thin Red Line.

I also love Danny Elfman's orchestral/choral finale to Edward Scissorhands, Rachel Portman's main piano theme to The Cider House Rules and Stephen Warbeck's music for Shakespeare in Love and Captain Corelli's Mandolin. :)

I agree with the comments on here regarding the music from Once Upon A Time In The West. It was the music which made the film.

Morricone's music for Once Upon A Time in America is a classic too.

For classical music fans like me, the music used in Death In Venice was composed by Gustav Mahler, the "Adagietto" from his 5th Symphony was used to wonderful and emotional effect in what is a sadly, depressing film to watch.

Return of the Jedi, when Vader finally manages to wind Luke up. The soundtrack playong whilst Luke charges forward and takes Vader out still gets me every time.

I love that music, I actually cried when that was on ITV the other week.

I find this one from Harry Potter really beautiful...

I've always liked the 'Piano scene' in Betty Blue. Having the actors playing the recurring incidental music was a nice touch.

A very simple scene but all the better for it.

Song to the Siren by This Mortal Coil. Great song for that scene. Sent shivers down my spine watching it,
