What accounts for the pro-Bouchard bias in the BBC commentary?
The bias isn't huge, but I am finding it noticeable.
Is it
* They don't like Kerber very much for some reason?
* Bouchard is Canadian and Kerber German?
* Bouchard is more a tabloid favourite?
* Kerber eliminated tabloid fave Sharapova?
* Something else?
The usual, exciting pretty young new talent etc. also there has been a lot of talk about her being an exceptional talent. So BBC do there usual cooing over her.

Bouchard is the BBC's female 'chosen one' as Dimitrov is the BBC's male 'chosen one'. Bouchard is better-looking than Kerber. That's probably all it comes down to in the shallow world of the media.
I'm hoping that he, Raonic and Dimitrov can continue their progress and start to bring about a new era like we're beginning to see in the women's game. The top four will still be hard to overhaul but it just seems like their dominance is beginning to diminish, though at a gradual pace. Good for the game to have new stars because it seems like the same faces have been dominating for such a long time and with such a similar brand of tennis across all courts.
It seemed like it at the Australian Open. Then it seemed like normal service resumed at the French with 3 of them in the semi final (albeit Murray not quite cruising to the semis the same fashion as Nadal or Djokovic there).
3 of them still in it at Wimbledon. There's every chance we may not even see a big 4 v big 4 final though this year at Wimbledon. From 2017 we are unlikely to see Djokovic, Nadal and Murray still almost completely dominating the grand slams and masters 1000 series.

The WTA are accused of doing the same. By those nice, reasonable folks on the Tennis Forum, at least.
No, neither was I, but losing the first set after going 3-0 up is a bit too cruel on us fans
Its a stressful business being a Sabine fan. I'm just glad she made the quarters after a terrible year, she's not playing badly so its just nice to see her in the quarters again whatever happens.
Is it safe to come back yet, now all the gloating is done?
Disappointing for Maria, but you can't keep on playing Russain Roulette and coming out alive. Well done Kerber though.
Really hope Simona wins this now, she so desrves it after the French and her great form for a year or so. Lets face it she's just much better at tennis than Sabine too.
Lisicki will be going for a medical time out soon...
Lol I'm finding it hard to support her in this after that debacle. I would be annoyed if someone did that to Lisicki so any other view would be hypocritical as far as I'm concerned.

That would be AMAZING!!!!
Fingers crossed

Bouchard is "so regal"

She really is a ginormous flake.
Yes, she seems too focussed on succeeding in her job. Commendable but not fan-friendly.
She's playing better than yesterday and tbh I wasn't expecting anything from today.

Novak, Stan, Dimitrov, Kyrgios

She's very self-assured and has a complete grasp of her own talents but she strikes me as being cold, driven and rather dismissive.
