Again, more myths. It has not cost the council four hundred thousand pounds to build this house. The house is worth four hundred thousand pounds, a completely different concept. The net build cost of this property is far less than the finished product will be worth.

So what? Are you suggesting that everything's perfectly fine because they might only be spending 300,000 on her? The plot alone cost them over 200k.

Besides, seen the plans and the costings have you?

Well there's no way she can move in to her new house now.

Probably because it will be very rare. How many women really want all those kids? Very few I would imagine, even if a lot of money's involved. So, why should we punish the majority of benefit claimants who only have a couple of children to get at the very few who have more?

This issue gets clouded when an individual is highlighted. Granted, it is not the case for most, but it's the fact that it is happening at all.

The idea of welfare state benefits was as a safety-net for people if and when they needed it. It was never intended to be a way of life or "entitlement". And what pisses people off is that in all too many cases, it's better for somebody to be on benefits than in work.

Because the locals know where the house is and they are not happy as she has said.

Quick force some pensioners who have paid in to the system all their lives to sell their house to pay the mansion tax, then give it to the big family! :D

Well if they have they probably won't get half as much hassle as this family is getting.

    In how many cases?

So it turns out the Housing Association bought the land and are building it and she's got to pay rent via housing benefit this has happened to many HB claimaints, but the tabloids have made out that she's having it for nothing by just demanding for it.

But she is having it for nothing as all her rent is paid for via housing benefit?

She's right. By and large we (yes, I'm one of those locals) aren't happy. Why would/should we be? But at the same time I've heard nothing to suggest the need to go into hiding - that's stretching things.

I've no idea who or what triggered the initial decision but that aside can you please explain the difference between 'paying rent via housing benefit' and 'having it for nothing'

She doesn't work so that amounts to the same thing doesn't it?

Are you suggesting that benefits were invented for women to have 11 children and not bother working ?

I think if you read her interview with The Mirror, you may understand the 'not bother working' part.

Don't worry its the same money that goes on pensions and tax credits for the elderly or self employed, the taxpayer didn't buy the house, the land was sold off to a Housing Association by the council which means the houses are not being built on the taxpayer, which is what the tabloids and idiots on Daybreak would have you believe, this story is one of very few, she has obviously been picked by the tabloids to generate anger towards people on the dole.

Taxpayers are still paying the rent...

    You don't say?

Like we do for every other person that claims housing benefit, deal with it, if the woman only banged out 2 kids it wouldn't be that much of an issue.

As you can see it's too late the media have sown the seed and the 'taxpayers' are on their hobby horses now ;)

HEY everyone LOOK the emperor is naked,

    QUOTE-
Kate Middleton: benefit scrounging mother moves into palace at taxpayer's expense

"Britain only permits two types of outrage today: dog-whistle disgust for the extremely poor and spanielish devotion to the aristocracy.

“Dole Queen Owns Horse!” screeched the front page of yesterday's Sun. This masterpiece of balanced headlining ran alongside a full-length picture of a distressed-looking pregnant woman who is due to be relocated into an extravagant new home at the government’s expense. The thirty-one year old, who has never held a full-time job, will shortly be moving into a twenty-bedroom palace with a fleet of staff, ALL funded by the taxpayer at a cost of hundreds of thousands of pounds per year. Kensington Palace, to be precise. The state is to fund the redecoration of every room to suit the unemployed mother-to-be and her husband, who is also out of work after a brief stint in the army.

There are two types of outrage permitted on of this bitter little island right now: dog-whistle disgust for the extremely poor and spanielish devotion to the aristocracy. If we're going to talk about large, dysfunctional families gaming the system and spoiling democracy for hard-working, law-abiding, ordinary citizens, the discussion should start and finish with the House of Windsor. The royals and their retinue cause more damage to the British psyche than any luckless single-parent family scapegoated by the tabloids, and it's a cost that goes way beyond the financial implications of the Civil List. Yesterday’s headlines, like tomorrow’s and next week’s, tell the people of Britain in terms as stark and brutal as an eviction notice: ask for nothing, doff your cap, and know your place."

Welcome to conditioning, mind how you go,

Dream on. She's been picked on because of her "cavalier attitude" and lack of respect, not for being on the dole. Anyone can spend time on the dole, she's spent the best part of a decade up the duff!!
She only stopped having kids because of a cervical cancer scare and has been quoted as saying that if the house being built (comprising an eco friendly design, 355 sq ft kitchen, seperate diner and three bathrooms) doesn't meet her expectations she'll insist on being given a bigger one!!
With comments like that she's her own worst enemy.

At the end of the day her past 5 year housing 'nightmare' was caused by her somewhat compacent shagging habits....

    ....and nothing else.

That's unfair why pick on Kate Middleton why not put the focus on MP's wives. I'm sure they will find plenty who don't work and who are living on tax payers money courtesy of their husbands ;)

A "cavalier attitude" as described by The Sun. All on the back of a made up story two weeks earlier. On the balance of probabilities, I know who I would prefer to believe.

You should go on a date with Hilary Mantel. :D

Be warned though, she's a bit of a minger. For a woman keen to slag off how Kate Middleton looks she might want to check in the mirror. That picture of her in the Guardian was scary.

She looks like the result of an unholy union between Rod Hull & Emu does Hilary.
