Interesting minor horror from 1977 with James Brolin. Saw this way, way back. It came around the time of a spate of demonic possession movies following on from The Exorcist and Rosemary's baby.

The story follows a strange black sedan that come out of the desert and starts killing the inhabitants of a small town. It appears to be driverless and it's never explained why it's there or where it came from, and it curiously seems to go for people who are basically good, or innocent.

In truth it's not really a horror movie, there is practically no gore at all, just a little blood now and again. It certainly owes a debt to Spielberg's Duel, with a malevolent, driverless vehicle causing havoc.

And it's actually pretty good, it creates a decent amount of mystery and suspense, and it's very well put together...in the wrong hands it could have been extremely silly, but it just about holds together.
