Waiting a year or two even would be very sensible. The backlash from a coup attempt this quickly would be immense.
They might only need 47 MPs to start the process but I assume it just means a complete rerun?
Would they be able to guarantee that Corbyn wouldn't be able to get enough MPs to nominate him? A lot will be outraged at such a blatant disregard for the process, and if he gets on the ballot well then I think he would be a racing certainty to win again.
Only way I can see them going for it this year is if the alternative is the party splits, if they really can't reign the egos in.
It's going to take a Malcolm Tucker to put this one back in the box
Nothing to do with egos - just incompatible policies, and MPs who believe the opposite to Corbyn, think he is an idiot, and are already committed to the opposite view by their previous statements. It gives all MPs, apart from the hard left, an impossible problem. Only a few, in seats where half the electors vote Labour without thtinking, can afford to reverse their policies and lie that they believe anything Corbyn says.
Take one Miliband E . He tells us in an election campaign that he doesn't believe in unilateralism and thinks we eneds at least 3 missile submarines - is he now supposed to stand up and say he has seen the wisdom of Comrade Corbyn - and thinks the opposite? Is the shadow defence secretary? The only change between May and September is that Russia has fielded about 70 new nuclear warheads. Are the party meant to argue that the austerity, they said was necessary, now isn't - because Corbyn has waved a magic wand? Who is going to say that who could possibly serve on a Treasury team in future, and how would they ever be credible in the future, if they backed Corbyn in September, and Ball's budget in May 2015.
It can't happen. The result can only be Corbyn, or his MPs will have to go.
If so is it random or could it be actually organised by the Tories?
Harman said that she wanted as many people as possible to vote. Many people have taken her up in her offer.
In a speech at Labour HQ in London, Harman said she wanted to “let the public in” to the contest, and said that people who were not party members or affiliated supporters through a union or Labour-linked organisation would be able to vote.
She said: “Anyone – providing they are on the electoral register – can become a registered supporter, pay £3 and have a vote to decide our next leader. This is the first time a political party in this country has opened up its leadership contest in this way and I think there will be a real appetite for it out there.”

The war has already started.

its labour's fault but i find that pathetic tbh
Is it possible they've had a genuine conversion?
Would the Dems want anything to do with them after the steady drip of poison 2010-2015?
