Everyone has a favourite quote from the film - what's yours?! Mine is the "finest wines known to humanity" one.
Interestingly - Richard E Grant - who probably plays the most famous alcoholic in British cinema history - hates alcohol and has never drank it!
You should read his "memoirs" - With Nails - where he recounts Bruce Robinson getting him drunk. It's a great book BTW
Yes - I hear that that was Grants defining "I'll never drink again" moment!:D I must get that book!
He also plays a right boozer on Posh Nosh (wife cooks -he opens endless bottles of wine).
Does it well considering his aversion to the demon drink - don't you think!!?!
"We are drifting into the arena of the unwell..."
"Even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day".
"GETINTHEBACKOFTHEVAN!"
We could end up writing the whole script out here.
"Have you been at the controls?"
W: "My family don't like me being on the stage"
M: "Then they must be delighted with your career":p
Apparently McGann still gets asked by barmen if he wants "ice in his cider".
Anyone seem How To Get Ahead in Adverising? (also Richard E Grant - same era) I didn't like it at all.
Such a funny, brilliant movie.
Love his pronunciation of "br-r-r-r-roooooose".
I keep hoping that it will be shown on TV, but maybe I will have to get it on DVD.
"i'm sitting down to enjoy my holiday!"
"don't threaten me with a dead fish!"
"we've gone on holiday by mistake..."
excellent
"ive got the fear"
"what F***** said that?"
The end is so sad though. I wonder what happened to them both?.......
"it might be a rat"
"then the f****r will rue the day!"
I hear one of them now works for Argos
Love the film too.
Definitely.
Plus the one in the tea shop, did those places really exist?
are you asking if tea shops existed or am i missing something?
