What song or piece of music, whether you consider it a favourite of yours or not, puts a tingle up your spine when you hear it?

Some of mine are :-

Stranger On The Shore - Acker Bilk
Everlasting Love - Love Affair
Bright Eyes - Art Garfunkel
Are Friends Electric - Tubeway Army
Video Killed The Radio Star - Buggles
I Hear You Know - Jon and Vangelis
Love Action - Human League
State Of Indepence - Donna Summer
Stay On These Roads - A-ha
I've Been In Love Before - Cutting Crew
Higher State Of Conciousness - Josh Wink
6 Million Bicyles - Katie Melua

Can you get anything more diverse than that list from a 35 year old?!! ;)

Tangerine Dream - Logos Part I (Intro) 1982

Saw this played live 5 days before the live album was recorded in London. The composition, musicianship, sounds and mood lighting on stage are memories that will go with me to the grave.

    Awesome stuff.

Ah the 'tinglies' as we used to call them. ;)

Some of these are just so beautiful that they can't fail to cause a tingle, others have more personal memories attached to them that cause the tingle whenever I heard them (or specific parts of them).

    Adagio For Strings by Barber.
    Mars by Holst
    Soma by Smashing Pumpkins
    Everlong by Foo Fighters
Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones
This Side Of The Blue by Joanna Newsom
Make Love **** War Public Enemy feat. Moby.
Digging In The Dirt by Peter Gabriel.
    Crush by Smashing Pumpkins
    Spaced by Smashing Pumpkins
Ghost In The Shell original movies intro music.

The Lark Ascending - Vaughan Williams. One of the most over-played classical pieces of all time...but one that deserves that title. Just pure magic. This piece alone proves classical music to be the best genre of music by a mile. No other genre can produce stuff as good as this.
Crown Imperial - Walton (that huge brass finish gets me every time)

Symphony of Sorrowful Songs movement 2 - Gorecki

Has anybody heard anything by choral composer Eric Whitacre? He's recently become quite well known due to his Virtual Choir project, but his work really is pure perfection. A Boy and a Girl, Sleep My Child and Her Sacred Spirit Soars all send shivers up my spine. www.ericwhitacre.com

The Carpenters - Rainy Days and Mondays, Close to You, Yesterday Once More. That voice just makes me melt inside.

Dog Days Are Over/Rabbit Heart - Florence & the Machine

Over the Rainbow - Eva Cassidy

Make You Feel My Love - Adele. (Someone Like You on first listen, but it quickly became boring after that)

'Toon alert!! Love the guitar that comes in towards the end of that song. If only they put this out instead of Numbers as a single...sigh.
