Earlier today I took my Mother shopping.

We called into a bakery shop as she wanted some Hot Cross Buns.
The assiaant asked how many and my mother said `Half a Dozen`
The assisant asked her,

" How many is that?"

We both felt old.

I do hope that this is a rare occurrence. I don't believe that all the youth of today don't know what a dozen or half a dozen would be. :D

Saying 6 is quicker. Efficiency saves time and money. Now move along.

Well, a bakers dozen is thirteen so maybe the assistant was checking if she wanted six or six and a half.

More about the assistant being in a job way over their head. I take it there isn't a McDonalds locally they could work in.:D

Was talking to an elderly lady a couple of days ago who claimed that her gardener " charges me five guineas to cut the grass". It made me feel young.

I remember once, there was this stunning girl on the street, wearing skimpy shorts, selling **** as part of a promotion for one brand, at £4 for a pack of 20 in a metal tin. I asked her for 5 packs. She looked at me and asked "how much is five fours?"

Obviously was not employed for her brains then ;)

I thought the same. Any other shop and the assistant would appear to have been somewhat ignorant.
