as whoever, hey stated, the restrictions on memory. Also other restrictions such as bluetooth & the customization of the home screen, without jailbreaking you are stuck with what Apple say you can have with very limited change, you get a lot more freedom of choice on Android. The lack of flash, yes I know that Adobe have stopped officially supporting Android devices for flash in favour of HTML5, but it can still be sideloaded.

Also I refuse to support a company that have an obsession with suing people who have nothing to do with computers like greengrocers have been sued by apple. They just throw their toys out of their prams and scream like little bitches, that one of their ever so precious patents has been copied.

If Apple had their way, everyone in the world would only be able to buy an Ipad as a tablet, they cannot handle the thought of competition, I don't believe for one minute that the likes of HTC / Samsung etc are costing Apple sales over the basis that the devices look similar, when the Operating system is totally different. I buy a device for what I want it to do, I don't buy it as a fashion statement.

The galaxy Note 10.1 is the only tablet I would consider buying, simply because it has a stylus.

Can't stand touch screens.

The Samsung note is the only tablet with a pixel precise stylus.

The other tablets screens can not work with a Stylie (is that even a word -lol), it needs a special screen.

There are useless stylus pens produced for other tablets but they have to be the size (and simulate the capacitance) of a finger to work.

the Note stylus (S Pen) is actually pretty damn clever. Look here:

Well that's me told then.

I agree it does seem quite clever.

I am now torn between the Galaxy Tab 2 & the Galaxy note 10.1. I know it would mean saving a little bit more for the Note 10.1, but it does look a nice piece of kit. I know that CEX does the Note 10.1 for under £300 with 12 months warranty, so am very tempted.

Sony Tablet S (Android)

Looks good, and unique shape makes it easy to hold Unlikely to slip out of your hand. Android is incredibly easy to use and oh so very configurable. Thousands off apps, many free, and just as good in terms of functionality as anything Apple has to offer. Great machine for reading e-books, displaying photos, playing games. Screen nice and sharp, machine nippy in use. Absolute crap for built-in remote control, and Sony's product support is abysmal. Because of that, I will never buy another Sony computing product.

iPad 4

Beautiful design, slippery in the hand so best used with a case. Elegant in use, and Retina screen is all its said to be and more. Better than non-Retina for viewing pretty much anything. Fast in use and although app store is a mess it does contain around 275,000 apps, lots of them free. One I bought cost me a couple of quid and has solved a long running problem of remote controlling/ streaming from a NAS drive to my Home Cinema. The downside, is that it's expensive, and Apple wants every little thing done their way. Nowhere near as configurable as Android, but on the other hand, most native IOS apps are actually very good.

Out of the two, the iPad is the superior machine, but then it should be on price alone. Before buying it I looked at the nearest Android equivalent, the Nexus 10, and found that although the screen was an equal, it let itself down in other ways. Check out the reviews on line to see what I mean.
I received an iPad 4 last year, my first ever apple product, and i can't put it down.. So good

What I'm finding, is that for some things Android works best, and for others it's Apple.

The iPad almost always wins any contest of elegance or beauty, but when it comes to configuration and getting stuff on and off, Android triumphs!

The let down I was talking about can be found in the many reviews of the product. Mainly, it seems to be a matter of build quality.
