Hi folks,

New fly-on-the-wall series about the rail network - looks similar to The Tube last year...

Season 1 Episode 1 of 6
King's Cross New series. Documentary going behind the scenes of the UK's rail network, revealing the inner workings of one of Britain's biggest institutions. At London's King's Cross station, platform staff search for late drivers to keep trains running on time, while management are on a recruitment drive for the new multimillion-pound western concourse. Train dispatcher Laxman has an emotional week as he prepares to leave and head off into retirement after 35 years working at the terminal

This looks promising, have put the series on record. Let's hope it's as interesting as the recent Tube series.

    This should be good, locations/topics being covered in each episode are;

    1. London Kings Cross
    2. Leeds "Summer Madness"
    3. Reading
    4. West Coast Mainline
    5. Railway & Communities
    6. Scotland

Fans of The Tube will also be pleased to hear that a second series began filming on New Years Eve! :)

It was due to run tonight but wildcat industrial action (prompted by management switching canteen biscuits from bourbons to gypsy creams) means it’s now been shunted to a siding and will air sometime in 2016 instead. Probably......

I love these kinds of documentaries from the Beeb. Hope it's as interesting as The Underground one from last year.

Seeing behind the scenes at KX should be good - the new concourse is an amazing piece of design and engineering.

Well that's got my goat already - the woman who said 'surely it's illegal to be packed in like this':
    1. no it's not
    2. you are not packed in - you packed yourself in

Have to say the new Kings Cross station is absolutely majestic. Can't wait till they finish the latest phase on the front. All that section that she was just stood in with the pigeons is now gone.

I have a lot of affection for KX as it's the London station I have used the most but it really was a craphole of the highest order.

They certainly are train mad at the moment.

I hope this isn't all going to be about customers moaning about the price.

Thank God I get free rail travel:D:D:)
