    Absolutely disagree.

She was a great soap actress and one from the old-school 'one take' stable of actresses.

Don't like the woman but she was a fantastic character actress IMO

Well if we agreed on everything this place would be bloody dull! :D

    Yes. It was very cringeworthy.

As Bet Lynch, yes she was a legend. I don't think anyone else could have been Bet. Outside of that, no.
Personally I didn't see her in CBB, but I do remember her in celebrity fit club. She seemed to have a cold personality to me.

She wasn't that good an actress and got very few roles outside of the character in Coronation Street. Acting legend? Not at all.

ITV tied her up in iron clad contracts, that's why she never cracked Hollywood

Didn't like her in CBB. She came across as rather up herself.

I read her autobiography a few years ago.

    She certainly doesn't hold back.
Coarse as nails throughout and very graphic. You can tell she wrote the book herself.

I didn't come way from that book liking her, but it left me wanting more. Her life has had so many ups and downs & twists and turns. The relationship with her parents (especially her Mother) was very interesting. Her life reads like a soap opera.

She was definitely being herself on CBB. (not very nice)

A bloke I used to work with from Heywood always used to claim that he had got off once with Julie Goodyear years ago and that she had taken him back to her house nearby for sex. Given that she is nothing to boast about whatsoever, I believe he was likely telling the truth.

Thanks for that, and just before bed too. There goes tonight's sleep! :o:o:(

She was of her time and her character (Bet) iconic but Julie Goodyear, as the entire package, isn't really a legend, IMO.

I always think she'd make a cracking drag act Myra Hindley.

I stopped watching Corrie about 20 years ago but I did used to fancy Julie Goodyear. I've never watched BB so can't comment about that. Some of her tyres are good though. :D

Can't stand the woman, never have.

I've never missed the deluded old bag one bit in Coronation Street.

It's at times like these that we need some kind of official legendary status accreditation body to give a definitive answer.

I think if she were a genuine leopard print legend in her own lifetime instead of an actress in a long running drama serial there wouldn't be any debate and no need for a council.
