    The four horsemen of the apocalypse would admit defeat. How on earth could we match that for suffering?

    btw - Ken Russell hit the nail on the head regarding the Carry Ons. He went to see one just out of interest.

    Surely we can do better than this, he thought.

    No way! not one of those three are anywhere near as talented, or funny, as the likes of Kenneth Williams, Joan Sims, or Charles Hawtrey.

    There will never be another Carry On film op for 3 main reasons.

    !. Most of the cast are dead.

    2. The last time they tried to re-capture the series in 1992 it bombed harder than a suicide pilot, and was universally panned.

    3. As others have said they are time capsules, very much of their time, and can never be replicated. Mainly because of political correctness. Jokes about boobs and double entendres are very passe now, more's the pity.
