This topic partly explains why I always use the self service checkouts.

    Cash.

    Try again.

Think off all the customers who have spluttered over the touch screen, I see it regularly as a supermarket worker. ;) As shop floor staff, I get to be nosey every now and then.

The cash gets thoroughly cleaned (laundered!) before I use it.

    Try ag......

Or don't bother, because this is already becoming tedious, lol.

The checkout operator probably caught a cold from the customers coughing and sneezing all over the supermarket.

If you are sick too often in retail you get sacked. They generally don't accept a cold as a reason to be off sick anyway, you have to be in bed unable to get up to be allowed a sick day. I'd advise writing to management and suggesting they let staff have time off for colds or at least let them do shelf stacking instead as it is a bit gross they be sneezing all over your food.
