After a car vacuum cleaner, but which one?

There are a few to pick from.

I was looking at the Vax

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vax-H90-GA-B-Handheld-Vacuum-Cleaner/dp/B0031M9K5U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386153244&sr=8-1&keywords=VAX+CAR+VACUUM

Or, the Black & Decker:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Decker-PAV1205-Dustbuster-Automotive/dp/B001DZTPD4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1386153277&sr=8-2&keywords=black+%26+decker+car+vacuum

I'm more tempted with the Black & Decker as it is charged via cigarette lighter.

Any personal recommendations?

Obviously none of them are going to beat a normal vacuum, but lugging the Henry outside is really impractical and hard work.

Only want one to clean my car.

Thank you

I have the Vax H90 cleaner (from Amazon) and it really isn’t powerful enough for anything but basic ‘car cleaning’; it’s not powerful enough (or slim enough) to get between seats and all the stuff that gets between/under the car mats etc.

The odd times I’ve used it always feels (and looks) like I’ve done half a job.

If you just need it to remove crumbs or surface debris from the seat fabric then it’s ok.

I think most medium-priced hand held battery powered cleaners will struggle. They just can’t compete with suction power of a ‘mains’ operated cleaner.

PS. The batteries never seem to last anything like as long as the makers claim. I feel there is always a tendency to exaggerate the capabilities of the cleaner; (for obvious reasons.....some cynics may say).

This is mains powered but it saves lugging a conventional bulky hoover outside to do the car.

It seems to have an almost universal thumbs-up from Amazon reviewers.

Another thing to remember about battery powered devices is that they will need charging if you leave them for lengthy periods between uses.

Personally, I'd think you'd be better just going to a car wash and using the vacuum cleaner there. Our local Asda has one and its excellent.

I have a Black & Decker dustbuster flexi and it's pretty good. A full charge does my car with no problems, although I take the mats out and brush them rather than use the vacuum!

My personal recommendation would be a stiff bristled brush. You can get all the cr*p out of the car, without ever buying batteries, recharging or plugging in.

Won't be getting that one then. Thanks.

Yeah I saw that one and am quite tempted.

I wanted a rechargeable one or something small for simplicity and just to clean and go whenever.

    £150!!! :o:o

Bit out of what I wanted to pay.

Yeah I use the henry, but just awkward getting into the small places and lugging it outside. Does the job, but time consuming.

Thanks, but I'd need some sort of hoover to then get rid of the mess.
