Couldn't load plug in . driving me mad!

Hello., first time in this section, i am hoping that someone can please help me.
I am getting the 'couldn't load plug in' message every time i try to watch a video, especially on streaming sites, etc. This has been happening for the last 4 days and it is driving me nuts >:(
I have googled it but i am not at all technical so will need advice for idiots please
I am running windows 7 on my laptop, my google chrome is up to date and shock player and pepper flash are all enabled. At the mo i am using system restore to get videos playing again.

In Chrome > Clear browsing data, then Uninstall the Chrome Browser. Close down, Re-Start and Install the Chrome Browser.
On the same Website flash video did work with IE 11.
