I used to love see Laurel & Hardy on BBC, I wish they would they would re-broadcast them again.
Even through the films are over 70 years old they are still as entertaining as ever.

Yes i agree , The One Show is so much better now the have departed to Daybore.
WC Fields, Will Hay, loved all of them and they were always on the television at some stage of the day. Maybe as these are specialist interests now, perhaps good old BBC Four can be called up to show them.

I was only saying this to my husband yesterday. You can't beat Laurel and Hardy, superb, though used to love Will Hay and Abbott and Costello loads too. Used to cry laughing, watching all these. Much better than the rubbish that makes it onto telly at the moment. Ahh, the good ol' days....
Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and a host of other old stars.
There is so much on that site.
Funny you should mention Will Hay, I went past where he is buried (Streatham Cemetery) his grave stone has been cleaned up after years of neglect.
Before the clean up

I know the Abbott & Costello film "Buck Privates" was shown on BBC4 last year.
There was a George Formby film on BBC2 last month.I 'm pretty sure this was the first GF film on the BBC for sometime.
"Two stupid people being stupid slowly"
Wow, thanks for that, I had considered doing it once myself. I know someone asked about it and was told it had to be done "properly" which would come at a cost.
You can pick it up just now for £31.47 with free p&p http://www.amazon.co.uk/Laurel-Hardy-Collection-21-disc-Box/dp/B0001K2KE8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1285595151&sr=8-1
L&H = total masters of comedy. I think the last time they had a regular run on the BBC was summer 2003 - that's the last I remember seeing.
It concerns me greatly that, while they're available to watch on DVD or the internet, their absence from TV may mean that a whole generation is growing up without them as a staple part of their lives, and that's such a shame.
I assume it was only done within the last few months, I last went there to visit my parents grave in February this year.
I was never a fan of Chaplin.I just never found the guy to be funny.
I've still got some episodes that i recorded from BBC2 round about 1996/1997
I saw a dvd box of all the Laurel and Hardy's for just 7 euro in a warehouse yesterday. You could watch as many as you'd like.
Personally I don't like to watch them.
