does bleach work over dyed (permanent) brown hair?

i think it does but im not absolutely sure?

would it work just as well if my hair was semi permanent brown i mean??
is this a silly move because i wanna try using highlights kit... just not sure if itll work

    No, the best you can hope for with a home kit is bright orange.

    DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!! :D Only joking...............

    It won't work - or will go orange. What you'd have to do is get your hair colour 'stripped' which is a time-consuming and relatively expensive product; then bleach it. Talk to a hairdresser and don't try and do this at home!

    I want to go the other way. I have bleached hair which has been overdone and I would like some brown highlights put into it.

    That is a slightly easier process, just choose a red based brown otherwise the colour tends to look a bit weird.

    really? hmm so its best i strip the colour well it seems best i go to the hairdressers really so I'll try to do that instead.
