Geri Halliwell jumps on the bandwagon
She just can't resist can she?
"Margaret Thatcher was the First Lady of Girl Power"
Is there nothing that gauche creature Halliwell won't do to use those self-publicising words "Girl Power"?
What a vile person. Ding Dong the witch lives on!!
Edit: this may not belong in Music, it may get moved. I don't care - I just needed to get it off my chest

To be fair she said this back in 1997 so it's not really new or jumping on any bandwagon.
Yeah Shampoo sang Girl Power in 1996 before the Spices burst onto the scene
Can she not think of anything to say of any meaning?
Move on Geri - it was over 15 years ago, find something new!!
And closed the door behind her.
Don't be silly, Geri wouldn't be where she is today without Thatcher
That's right. Don't make me post a "Leave Geri Halliwell ALOOONNEEE" video.
Is there an anti-Geri bandwagon? Get me a ticket!!
And as I said before, I know she has said this before - my point is she always trots out this tired old Girl Power statement just to draw attention to herself.
Self-publicity is her raison d'etre
Sad thing is she thinks she's probably being cool saying it

Now she hasn't even got the balls to stick by her own words for fear of being unpopular.
Jeez, she really is something!
She wasn't the only celeb who had to put up with abuse over similar tweets. Sounds like you just have an issue with Geri!
But there's plenty more on my list, she's way up at the top though.
So that's Geri Halliwell making a public statement as fact?
Is this what she really believes or does somebody need to educate her about history before she was born?
It's not fair if it's not true though is it?
"Thatcher was one of the first women to really break int a male dominated world".
Are you serious? This is 1979 we're talking about here.
In the scale of significant women in history this is a mere second on a twenty four hour clock.
Sounds like she's testing the water to see what other more popular celebrities say first.
Yes, that's real girl power isn't it Geri?:D
Not just politics either.
Plenty of women in history have made big inroads in fields which were traditionally male dominated.
Strong female leaders go a long way back in history too.
Don't worry Bluray, I know exactly why you posted this thread, she can come across a bit desperate and transparent at times so it's easy to see why you would have thought her comment was out there.
Oh do shut up  the irony of this thread.
