I went to school with a girl called Gaynor Friend - seriously I did and didn't connect it until recently, I just knew her as Gaynor, but I knew her surname and recently had the penny drop moment. How could her parents call her Gaynor!?

Nicholas If-Jesus-Christ-Had-Not-Died-For-Thee-Thou-Hadst-Been-Damned Barebon – a fine example of an English Puritan name.

Sir Humphrey Dodington Benedict Sherston Sherston-Baker. I'm sure I remember one that was even more of a pile up of double-barrelled names.

And I knew a girl at college called Fiona Clare who had a cousin called Heidi.
