fixing a screen damaged by water?

well it's actually a type of perfume but last night i put my walkman into my bag and this leaked and now the screen is damaged. it works and i mostly use the walkman for music anyway so it's not the end of the world but the screen just looks rubbish now.
there are patches of grey and orange light it almost looks as though the liquid is on the inside of the glass screen?
Will this sort itself out once the thing dries or will it be damaged permanently? also is there anything i can do all i can think of is putting it into a bowl of rice or something haha.
dull question i know but i've only had the walkman a couple of months and it wasn't cheap.
