My elderly father was greatly amused at a friend's funeral to hear Gracie Fields "Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye". I think he might like that for his funeral.
I want the Monty Python Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.
I actually went to a funeral a couple of years ago and that was played. It really fitted the deceased's personality beautifully and complimented the photo of him which sat atop the coffin, in which he sported a mischeivous grin. I laughed and cried in equal measure and it really did make you remember him just as he was.
Apart from Always Look on the Bright Side of Life played at the end to cheer everyone up, I'd like:
A medley of my favourite movie themes: Magnificent Seven, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Where Eagles Dare, Once Upon a Time in the West, You Only Live Twice
My family will probably just play the birdy song, they do at every other party. Doubt this will be an exception.
They will do that rowing thing sitting on the floor too I expect.
So at least you've got an upside coming as you won't have to listen to it.:p
I have already paid for my funeral, and have put down out the service I want, and the song I have chosen to be played at the end of the service before I'm taken to the cemetery where I'm going to be buried is Sanvean sung by Lisa Gerrard.

as it goes into the furnace at the crematorium:D
If we died now but when it goes out of favour
I guess Agadoo or the Hokey Cokey would be more timeless:D

Either that or Ghetto Gospel.
Haven't changed my mind since it first came out (think I was about 15) and I'm 37 now!!

Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who
The River by Bruce Springsteen
Whatever's Written in Your Heart by Gerry Rafferty, a really beautiful song that shouldn't leave a dry eye in the place
