You highlighted the use of the R word and then used it as an insult. Pointy enough?

EDIT: You meant rape didn't you. Strange to class that as offensive yet use the the other R word as a derogatory term.

Ahhh I get what you mean.

Yes, when I say retarded, I am not slandering those that have real retardation, but instead saying it is retarded/ridiculous/brain dead/etc of tv/film producers/writers.

I have no issues with profanity, some non pc behaviour or controversial subjects raised even in the media.

Yes I meant rape by the R word. I dont even like to say it and hate the concept of it, I feel it's one of the most henious crimes there is and worser than murder IMHO.

I dont find it entertaining in soaps or scary, just revolting, especially the thought of someone thinking that another person would find it entertaining. That makes me seriously worry about the producers mental health and if I had my way, they would be imprisoned.

I end up looking up most films on IMDB before I watch them to make sure that the R word it isnt in them.

Do not get me started :D I'll come back to the movies section when people have learned how to spell I think, bad enough it's everywhere else, but this section was always free of it.

Fair enough. I have similar feelings about the other R word but we'll not get into that.
I have to ask though, if you don't like the thought of that particular word, what the bloody hell are you doing watching a film about inbreds?:D (One that I think is brilliantly sick and twisted btw)

    _

and in keeping with the thread, Apollo 13 before going to the moon.

The other R word? The one I said in place of brain dead? How does that offend just out of interest?

Anyway is that what the hills have eyes about? I thought it was just scary people, living in the hills, killing passers by?

Anyway a lot of films I wouldnt presume would have sexual assult in, do, which is annoying. Even more annoying on soaps.

Like I said, I'm not going into it. Don't want to derail the thread any further. If you throw that word around on here though you'll see I'm not alone in the view. And yes the family in hills can defo be classed as scary!

Yes its horrific but I don't think directors put it in films to entertain that is a ridiculous notion some films are there to challenge us and get people using their brains!

On that note Irreversible-before walking down an underpass

Ive noticed it a lot in films, especially in horror films in the last decade or so.

I like horror, but I dont like that subject and it does feel from my viewpoint, that the directors/producers/writers are using it too much as a tool to shock.

Horror films these days seem to be all about how far they can push the viewers its like how gruesome can we get.

I think the Hills Have Eyes isn't too bad because you don't really see anything its certainly no Last House on the Left or I Spit On Your Grave. However I don't think it was really needed in that film its like oh lets throw one in to shock the viewers where as the latter two films wouldn't work without it.
