Is your wrist on the edge of the desk when holding the mouse? If so, then your desk is probably too small.

I never get a sore wrist, but hate trying to clean in between the keyboard keys later.

It's very common : lots of people end up with sore writs when they spend too much time on their PCs.

Most likely from your wrist resting on the desk i get it quite a lot, i'm investing in one of those mouse mats with wrist support.
It might be worth you investing in one they're only a couple of quid on ebay.

I always buy laptops with a severe slope on the lower front plastics, to avoid such pains.

For a desktop PC the solution is a better desk.

It can move with your hand, and is incredibly comfortable...get one before you wreck yourself!

edit: "oh it's too expensive". Don't cheap out, this thing is superior to those gel rests, been there, done that :P

at a pinch use some foam in a sock or something, but that callus is serious, you are injuring yourself.
