    Much amusement was to be had for those of us who went to Rodney Parade today, as the goal at the Alfreton end needed a change due to it having a too high a setting. Not sure as to why a new set were 'put in'.

    Saturday 13th April - talkSPORT Live

    I will post talkSPORT Live's coverage details for this evening's FA Cup Semi-Final when I know them. They might choose to take talkSPORT UK's commentary or they could do their own thing.

    talkSPORT Live opted to take talkSPORT UK's commentary on Millwall v Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup Semi-Final with Sam Matterface and Stan Collymore commentating and Ian Abrahams at pitchside. Tom Rennie handled their links between the halves from 5pm our time and confirmed at half-time that talkSPORT Live would be taking Sam and Stan's commentary on tomorrow's second semi-final as well.

    Slight addition to the WM info.

    There was a guy with Dicky Wilford, that won the chance to sit in for charity, but I didnt catch the guy's name.

    On the subject of the Wolves game, O'Hara is just as bad as his missus, it appears!

    FA Cup Semi-Final: Chelsea v Man City
    BBC Radio Five Live Alan Green, Mike Ingham and Pat Nevin (commentary) with Ian Payne (host) and Juliette Ferrington (reporter)
    IRN Andrew Cheal
    BBC London Andy Rowley and Bradley Allen (commentary)
    BBC Manchester I assume Ian Cheeseman leading the team but, despite what it says, BBC has blocked the match from being broadcast via the internet.
    EDIT: The link eventually came up. The commentators are Ian Cheeseman and Fred Eyre with Nigel Gleghorn.

    BBC London
    R/U: Saracens v Worcester Russell Hargreaves
    R/U: London Welsh v Northampton Phil Parry (the first time I have heard him reporting on rugby)

    BBC Three Counties Radio
    R/U: Saracens v Worcester Jason Harris and ? (commentary)

    Pure guesswork here but I assume that IRN's PL reporters were:
    Alistair Ross (Newcastle v Sunderland) and Steve Fleming (Stoke v Man Utd). Fairly certain about the Newcastle game but I suppose Clive Edwards could have done the Stoke game.

    To correct myself from post #2209, talkSPORT's Masters Special with Danny Kelly, Rupert Bell and Bob Bubka will actually be going out between 10pm-midnight rather than 8-10pm. And to add to that post, Tom Rennie handled the half-time and full-time links during talkSPORT Live's coverage of Chelsea v Manchester City before presenting their subsequent Premier League highlights programme.

    Don't Ingham and Green normally do both of the FA Cup semi-finals for 5 Live? I was a bit surprised to hear Dennis closing the game yesterday although thought he did well when speaking about the crowd trouble.

    I know I've asked this before but why don't Talksport use Andy Gray when they have a number of decent commentaries on a Sunday? One example would be when Man City V Chelsea was on the same day as the Capital one cup final earlier this season and again today he could have been used on the Newcastle-Sunderland derby or the Stoke match.

    I don't think it is unheard of for Green not to do a semi final and he does seem to be sitting out more games this season-- he didn't make the trip to san marino for example.
    re Andy gray, not sure if this is the reason but TS's premier league coverage is sponsored by sky sports his former employers so I wonder if TS are trying not to anoy sky by having Gray associated with their premiership coverage which sky sponsor. its probably nothing to do with that but unless Gray doesn't want to do the commentaries I can't think of any other reason they wouldn't want to use him.

    re Andy gray, not sure if this is the reason but TS's premier league coverage is sponsored by sky sports his former employers so I wonder if TS are trying not to anoy sky by having Gray associated with their premiership coverage which sky sponsor. its probably nothing to do with that but unless Gray doesn't want to do the commentaries I can't think of any other reason they wouldn't want to use him.

    I think this is part of the reason why they don't call upon Andy Gray on their Premier League coverage, combined with Andy's (and Richard Keys') regular weekend live football commitments with Al Jazeera Sports.

    Indeed this was reported in Charles Sale's Sports Agenda column in Saturday's Daily Mail:
    The talkSPORT Drivetime show, presented by Adrian Durham and Darren Gough, is to be sponsored by Now TV, an internet-based TV streaming service controlled by Sky.

    And Sky's sensitivities about Richard Keys and Andy Gray, who left them after a sexism controversy to join talkSPORT, are still such that they do not want the pair name-checked on their sponsored programme.

    So it is understood the flagship Keys & Gray show is to be referenced as the station's 'mid-morning' programme.

    Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2308284/Rafael-Benitez-targeted-Russian-Chelsea-fans--CHARLES-SALE.html#ixzz2QOUzMZqo

    Regardless of the availability of Andy Gray and the other factors that may decide against his use, I think talkSPORT have a number of other very strong co-commentators who are more than capable of doing justice to secondary live games. Alvin Martin and Ray Houghton are among my favourite co-commentators on either medium and both have plenty of commentary experience during their long tenures with the station. The younger co-commentators they use such as Matt Holland, Ray Parlour and Michael Gray have also made promising starts to their talkSPORT careers and have done well when I have heard them covering live games. So I don't think there's a particular necessity to get Gray involved when there are plenty of capable voices they can call upon.

    I forgot to mention this over the weekend, but Nation Radio will become an 'official radio partner' for Newport County for 2013/14
    Newport County AFC are delighted to announce their latest new sponsorship deal with Nation Radio. The deal, which starts next season, will see the South Wales station become Newport County AFC’s Official Radio Partner.

    <snip>

    Nation Radio adds Newport County to an impressive list of sports partners that include Glamorgan Cricket, Newport Gwent Dragons, Cardiff Blues and Wales Rugby League.

    <snip>

    The partnership will not have any effect the every popular iRadio match commentaries of County matches which will continue as normal.
