USB Memory stick to DVD-R?

We bought a Techsonic LCDTV for our bedroom, which has the facility to record onto a USB memory stick. How do I transfer the recording from there onto a DVD-R? I`ve tried connecting the tv`s scart socket to a dvd recorder and playing the recording on the memory stick, but this didn`t work. Any suggestions gratefully received, or should I just hope that BBC4 repeat the programme in question?

    I would transfer the USB material to your PC then burn it to dvd on the PC dvd drive although you'll have to check it's in the right format

    It will depend on the format the file is in. Have you tried using a computer and DVD burner? Can you access the file and see what the file extension is?
