Tonight Dr Who is played by Malcolm Tucker minus the swearing. Love it! :-)

Which is exactly what I was hoping for:D I'm thoroughly enjoying this episode!

Did they deliberately set out to make a rather tacky pastiche episode or something?

Not every episode has to be grim and gritty

I don't normally post during the episode but really don'tike this. For all the comedy its not funny and tone and direction is poor. I loved Robin of Sherwood - this is sacrilege hobo:o.

It's like A Knight's Tale but not as funny.

I don't mind the odd camp romp. This fits that description.
Found the first 2 episodes very stiff.

As much as I enjoyed Robin of Sherwood back in the day it could get a bit po-faced at times

Me too. I don't think every episode needs to be serious. It is a family show after all.:D

Very enjoyable episode. Next weeks looks a corker. I remember the Listen teaser. Seems like an important episode.

Eughh...god that was a chore to get through.

The "comedy" elements are not funny. The Doctor fighting with a spoon? A thought we had banished that crap with Capaldi. Then there was the irritating shouting match in the prison bit with the two of them trying to outdo each other in being the bigger annoyance and the Doctor acting like a petulant child.

Brilliant! Maybe Gatiss best. The comedy moments were laugh out loud funny- goodness Capaldi nails those scenes- and it had just enough depth to stop it being silly. I absolutely loved that. Barely any arc. Just a charming episode. Such fun!

It's the same with the Euro-Crime slot on BBC4 not every series has to be dark and forbidding. It's nice to get something a touch more light-hearted every once in a while

I had this one marked as the seasons absolute Turkey but what a bloody brilliant episode it was. Best one so far and Gatiss seems to have redeemed himself.

Great dialogue, hilarious one liners, Capaldi capturing the character of the Doctor perfectly and really hope he continues like this but Coleman stole the show imo.

Absolutely loved the Patrick Troughton reference!!

    Superb story!!
