  I've come close afew times when playing the final fantasy franchise ... Luckily common sense prevails & no damage takes place!!!

  UC2 is cracked so I drilled a tiny hole at the end of the crack so it doesn't spread

  Yup, Dead Space 2. Final boss battle. After about 4 hours continuous trying (and failing) I spotted that it only got you a bronze trophy and that pushed me over the edge. Mind you, Blu ray discs are somewhat tougher than normal DVD's!
  
  I've been playing Dead Rising 2 recently and some of the psychopath fights in that have got me close to mashing the disc, before I realised that you're meant to play it like Infinity Blade. Now I'm at level 43 I breeze past them.
  
  Normally I take out my frustration on the controller rather than the disc.
