I knew Duane Lamonte (far right) had made judges houses before as a solo artist in 2009, but I only just recognised James from Louis' judges houses in 2005. He's the one second to left (the black guy with the cap on) and he was only 16 when he was on the show and he had a little mini afro and a bit of a lisp.

Funny how they never mentioned him or duane getting to judges houses as soloists previously, like they did with the other girls :-/

Oh wow, I never even noticed. I remember they made quite a big deal of Duane in 2009 too, so it's weird that he wouldn't get mentioned. I don't really remember James, though it was a very long time ago

I recognised both Duane and James - and thought it was odd no mention was made of them trying before. I'd have liked them to have been picked rather than Kingsland Road - a three boy/one girl group would be a change from yet another boy band

I recognise Duane but not James, although, watching that video, I do remember him.

There was a far bigger deal made of James not making it. That was the year when Louis went into full-idiot mode and put through the two worst soloists ever to reach the live shows in Phillip Magee and Chennai and sent home James and some girl who went by the name of "Alexandra Burke".
