Hi everyone,
Re: HDR-1000S Freesat unit 1 TB
Does anyone know if i can view video content that stored on my NAS drive with the
HDR-1000S Freesat Box?
the HDR-1000S will be connected to my home network using a cat 5e cable.
NOT any sort of wifi dongle.
the NAS drive currently provided video to my PS3 box, using Twonky Server on the NAS.
thank you.

i shall piick one up on my way home from work tomorrow.
Yes I appreciate that only some file formats will play, same as the ps3.
if the formats i want wont play the i will have to buy another bot to add to the ssytem.
thanks again for the answer.
In many cases you can use a PC to change the file container format, in some cases you may have to recode the container contents.
It you are using a DNLA server like Plex it should transcode on the fly however you will need a reasonable specification CPU, suggestions are for cpubenchmark.net of at least 2,000 for transcoding a HD stream.
my NAS does transcode so i will see how it works.
i also have a tili that will chage the container.
the ps3 can't handle mkv but can handle mp4
so i will have a play when i pick it up.
thanks for the info
