She wasn't up to her usual standard. It took her a full 22 minutes before she uttered the words "cost of living crisis".

What do you expect when right wing panellists say that discussing policies is boring?

To be fair to Mark Harper once he had spouted the party line and managed to demonstrate that as a former Home Officer Minister he had no clue how the parole system worked he had the sense to keep quiet.

Though he was lucky not to get hit by flying shrapnel the amount of times Wee Eck/Flint/Len loaded the guns for the UKIP fishwife to shoot herself in the foot.

We were weak with laughter by the end ;-)

I think she was referring to the habit of referring back to UKIP's 2010 manifesto, which is boring, frankly.

You think wrong...she was specifically being asked about current policy on specific issues being raised by the audience.

Now if the answer was "we are still deciding as a party what our policy on X will be" I think most people might be a little surprised but willing to accept that...instead she resorted to saying "well this is my personal opinion" and then dismissing "policy discussion" as boring.

If she cannot represent her PARTY will more than her personal views...which may or may not be policy they might as well have grabbed any audience member to represent their personal views...it would have been an equally valid contribution...maybe more so since I suspect that hospital doctor actually knows more about the workings/limitations of the NHS than she does.

Has Labour got any substantive policies? Their occasional pronouncements sound like recently cobbled together ones in reaction to popular opinion.

The latest one is something to do with immigration. I wonder what brought that on.

Fair enough, I did watch it but I couldn't remember the exact context - mainly because her and Flint were squawking over each other at the time

It's fair to say that Bours didn't do herself or her party many favours last night though.

She was very quick to say tax cuts for millionaires though

Did any non left wing view get a single clap last night? The audience was hugely slanted although I guess to be fair to the Beeb, Liverpool is a very left wing city. Makes me laugh when the scouser victim complex pipes up about Liverpool being left behind - well perhaps if they had a better performing council then they might be in a better place? Big business won't want to invest in a city where it feels hated!

I agree. The audience does not feel real. However, only the most passionate about politics would probably appear on the show. We never get an everyday audience. I am sick of when the audience tries to "speak for us", EG the audience member who thinks they speak for the nation. I just rolled my eyes at some of the contributions the audience did this week.

Indeed, constant repitition of the same old slogans ("cost of living crisis", "freezing benefits, this while they give their friends a massive reduction in income tax") and cheap stunts like the disingenuous smear campaign against Lord Freud.

    Well balanced audience, not.

It was in Liverpool. How do you think they should have "balanced" the audience?

In your opinion, what makes her a "horrible horrible woman?"

Imported people with an IQ of 40 - just to increase it by 50%.

I agree with the UKIP lady about cigarette packaging, I can't see how plain packaging will stop people from smoking

The evidence appears to contradict that opinion. I wonder how much funding UKIP get from tobacco companies. They are not averse to taking bribes from interested parties.

Ah, of course.......because that really answers the question sensibly and maturely, doesn't it.

Ah, the good old Ecclestone, F1 and tobacco advertising days. Such clean politics.

Having worked in Liverpool for several years, it is sensible and true. It is the most stupid city in the country [Bristol is close mind you].

McCluskey knows his audience. Shout and bang the desk while making a(ny) point in a local accent. Like a Scouse Ian Paisley.

Seriously? You really are scraping the barrel with your criticism today, aren't you? Giving out to the man for speaking in his own native accent? What accent do you expect him use, for goodness sake?

No.......no it isn't. No matter how you dress it up, it really isn't.

Actually, Paul Nuttall has acquitted himself very well on QT in the past.

You mean like implying women are not worth what hey get paid, by the very fact that they are women and referring to people with mental illnesses as "loonies?"

Giving out? I thought this was the Question Time thread, not Mrs Brown's Boys??
