I will watch the opening night but not bother after that as BB is nothing without live feed. It amazes me how C5 can be so adamant as not to try live feed and find out how viewing figures fare.

I got my whole Farcebook account canned for mentioning the live feed. No abuse. No ToS violation. Nothing. In fairness I was glad to be rid of it as I virtually never used FB but that's beside the point.

Exactly the facts of the matter. Channel 5 banned people for even mentioning the Live Feed and that is disgusting of them.

    Where is the appology?

Here was me hoping live-feed was back for CBB in the New Year.

Any step in the right direction is good though. I'd pay for access to a live-stream (like I did the last one on C4), and broadcasting some of it on 5* or 5USA when there isn't anything worth watching on them (which is most of the time) wouldn't be too difficult.

It was tried for a decade, and is tried on every single BB in the world, and it works. And in fact is the whole point of Big Brother. 1 hour is an absolute insult. Their Farcebook page will get ceaselessly hammered again. The viewing figures even for CBB will slump.

C5 are a complete laughing stock, always have been. Pathetic fourth rate little broadcaster with ambition but not the nous to make their big dreams a reality. But then they employ and absolute moron like Jeff Ford, so it's hardly surprising BB on C5 is a complete shambles.

Quite the contrary, Jeff Ford is a very savvy man and is respected across the industry. If the day comes that he ever leaves Channel 5 there is no doubt in my mind that he will be snapped up by a bigger broadcaster.

I don't see why viewing figures will slump for CBB because of this either. They might slump, but if they do it won't have anything to do with there being no 24/7 feed as there wasn't one last series either.

It's boring people making a mountain out of a molehill. Even if LF was back you'd find something else to moan about I bet.

Not for his disgusting treatment of Facebook uses he isn't!

Banned just for mentioning the Live Feed not posting abuse of any kind.

I noticed in your constant brown nosing of Channel 5 you avoided answering that one.
Plus they don't need o try something has already been tried - Another thing that you just don't have an answer for.

Does Richard Desmond own Facebook now, too? Sorry, I still maintain that if you were banned from Facebook you should take up any issues of that kind with them. I can't comment on any specific cases that I don't know the full details of, but I do know that some pretty vile comments were posted on Channel 5's Big Brother pages, which certainly became a very good example of how NOT to get your voice heard in the right way.

And I doubt very much that Jeff Ford had much to do with anyone getting banned on the social networking site, which won't exactly be top of his priorities as the channel's controller.

As for live feed being tried previously, not by Channel 5 it hasn't, and not in this new era of Big Brother. I'm sure if it's popular they will look to do more of it. If not they won't. I don't see why there has to be such a big drama about them expanding their coverage, if you don't like what they're offering find something else to watch. Plenty of people do though.

Nobody savvy or respected would work for C5/pornographer Richard Desmond. End of.

The very long track record of failure, bad taste productions, desperate attention seeking bilge and reliance on Yank drivel underlines everything C5 is about. They've taken a formula successfully used all over the world by decent broadcasters and turned it into crap no one wants to watch, with the very core essence of the show removed.

The work of genius! Added to which idiotic halfwit Jeff Ford then guaranteed appalling ratings for vanilla BB by alienating most of the long term fans. No doubt the Beeb are beating a path to his door as we speak...

The damage is done. BB will be cancelled in the summer. R Desmond knows they've screwed up monumentally. The very fact that they're offering this stupid little bit of LF after saying it was gone for good is clear evidence of this.

But even with it, C5 BB would be shite as they have dull talent agency morons as housemates and flout every sacrosanct rule of the show (contact with the outside word, especially loved ones, top of the list). It's so obvious despicable Desmond wanted the name alone. Well tough - he's blown his one chance now.

Maybe they're just testing to see if there's still some interest, we need to make sure we all watch it so that the ratings are high enough that they increase the live coverage for the summer series.

If everyone watched it with that extra hour inc adverts, and ratings greatly improved, then C5 would staywith that level for the summer show.

As they didn't want to deliver 24/7 at the outset, that extra hour with adverts means very little in the long term, for long standing BB fans.

First part is clearly not true. As for you constantly labelling him as a "pornographer" as if it's some kind of insult, I have to ask, is it that bad to work in the porn industry, really? Are we going to get all moralistic about what in my view is a perfectly legitimate form of entertainment if you like that sort of thing?

That aside, I don't really see what Desmond's other business pursuits have to do with Channel 5, which was far 'grubbier' with more risque late night content back in the early days when RTL owned it.
The very long track record of failure, bad taste productions, desperate attention seeking bilge and reliance on Yank drivel underlines everything C5 is about. They've taken a formula successfully used all over the world by decent broadcasters and turned it into crap no one wants to watch, with the very core essence of the show removed.
Have you not made this point lots of times previously? Clearly there are some fans that agree with you, but the audience figures suggest the live feed is not the be-all-or-end-all you make it out to be, certainly as far as the celebrity version is concerned.
The damage is done. BB will be cancelled in the summer.
Speculative again and can't be said with any certainty unless you can accurately predict the future and if so I'd like to know Wednesday's Lotto numbers please. According to a report by The Guardian the other day ad sales are up massively at Channel 5 thanks to the young 16-34 aged audience BB provides, so I wouldn't bet on that outcome. I'd say it's 50/50 at the moment but we're only halfway through the contract so let's see what happens. Another strong showing from Celeb BB next month which I'm expecting will stand it in good stead.
R Desmond knows they've screwed up monumentally. The very fact that they're offering this stupid little bit of LF after saying it was gone for good is clear evidence of this.
Yes, they are expanding their coverage because the show hasn't performed as well as expected and they're about to cancel it. That makes perfect sense!
But even with it, C5 BB would be shite as they have dull talent agency morons as housemates and flout every sacrosanct rule of the show (contact with the outside word, especially loved ones, top of the list). Yeah, 'cause the wonderful faultless C4 version never used people from talent agencies and all of the original rules were honoured at all times. Ditto international versions. Yeah right! C5 won't be as closely involved in the day-to-day running of the show as you suggest, a lot of those kind of decisions would have been made by the producers at Endemol.

For the viewers who will appreciate this one hour, of course. :) And actually it'll be two a week as it looks like there'll be evictions every Wednesday and Friday.

Going by the listings for the w/c 7th January and w/c 14th January, yep. Not sure about the week after that.

I remember one of the major criticisms from the last series of Celeb BB though was not enough evictions so it's a good thing if they are putting that right.

Pornographer R Desmond hates the term 'pornographer', so I always refer to him thus - yes, I'm petty :p

Everything on C5 is absolute bilge. Name me one compelling drama, outstanding documentary series, riveting fly on the wall series - it's the broadcaster equivalent Rola Cola.

There is no way BB will continue after the coming summer with ratings barely scraping the 1m mark at times. It doesn't make money drawing in so few viewers. The LF has been added in a pathetic attempt to lure in a few more viewers to appease the not entirely overjoyed advertisers who have understandably questioned why ratings for the vanilla series were so poor.

Even the poorest C4 series was 100 times better than the absolutely dire cobblers served up by C5. BB4 and BB8 seem like outstanding masterpieces compared to the luke warm nonsense that was BB12, with its farcical amount of outside world contact, pointless tasks and even the desperate acts of putting Pam Anderson and Katie Price in the house in a vain attempt to drum up a bit of interest.
