Why do the contestants have to buzz in the final round and wait for their name to be read out? Seems a bit unfair to me as it wastes valuable time.

Well, it's only the first answer which counts and if two or more give an answer at the same time, where would we be?
If two people are in the final, they get a two point lead so I suppose that makes up for the slight time delay.

15 to 1 in 1989 with Daphne Fowler was my first one and have just got the bug again.

Have auditioned recently for 1001 Things and Five Minutes to a Fortune and still waiting to hear. For some reason never got on Face the Clock (only ever failed audition)

Never get put off by a failed audition, sometimes you think you have done ok but your not what they are looking for, other times you think its not one of my better efforts & you get on, they are looking for contestants for Tipping Point so that may well be worth a go.

Applications in for TP and Pointless. :D

BBC phoned about 3 weeks ago that they could not process my application for Pointless until 12 months after The Chase was aired :( New rules apparently.

    Really !
then I have had it for the year then !
Must be a new rule, they hate it if you have anything in the pipeline that has not been shown but this must be something new, a year
That is probably across the board with BBC shows, not necessarily if you went for another show on another channel.

Could be just the clash of those two shows as they are aired at the same time

Was told ANY quiz show you will wait 12 months to get on a BBC quiz.

It's amazing what snippets of information one picks up without realising it.

Nope...it's a bag with 2 balls with A and B on them. You don't see the questions themselves (or at least I didn't when I picked ball A)

Does anyone know how long is the norm between recording the show and it being shown? I've been waiting over 4 months now and no promised email received.

I stand corrected on the 2 balls/ 2 envelopes scenario:)

PS. when are you on? :D

To give you some idea, my show was recorded on 7th October and was shown on 27th February. That's a little over 4 months, so maybe you are due an email any day now :)

I liked 'funny Paul' today. He and Ann are definitely my favourite Chasers.

Loved the Ben Hur answer! But personally, I would always prefer the contestants to give any answer than an 'I don't know'. I never understand why they don't just guess an answer to a "what colour.." or "what month" question - at least there's a chance they might guess the right one!

    xx
