Nobody seems to remember my favourite Saturday morning show Ghost Train.

What others can you think of? Can be sitcoms or anything!

"Dad" by Andrew Marshall (the creator of 2point4 Children). I can't remember much about it but it starred Julia Hills (better known as Rona in 2point4 Children).

Im surprised nobody remembers Ghost Train and it ran for years, and also unlike many other Saturday Morning programmes, there was a storyline, what I classed as a storyline anyway.

In Barry Mafia's hatred for the main presenters, a storyline which concluded in the final scene of the very last show, When Barry's Cousin, sent the whole presenting gang to another planet, and that they would never see there loved one's again.

Nobby ended up back on Earth though didn't he, and appeared on gmme5 etc

I remember Ghost Train. It was unlike some other Sat Morning kids shows which were studio based as the 'Ghost Train' landed in a different town each week.

It was ok as I recall.

The Mole, on Channel 5. A brilliant show, a bit like a 12 week Krypton Factor. You had to use your brains as well as brawn.
Unfortunately, it got labelled as "reality TV" when in real life, it's absolutely like the crap 'reality TV' we get fed.

Another, more actual 'reality TV' show, on BBC2, featuring students in a shared Manchester house. I think it was called "The Living Soap" or something.

Anyone remember a Thames or LWT controversial drama called "Kids"?

Wasn't it just a phone in segment on Saturday Superstore ?

My favourite Saturday show was Parallel 9 with Brian the Dinosaur.
    I vaguely remember Ghost Train.

Big John Little John remember vividly from when I was a kid. And Sledgehammer is BRILLIANT. "Trust me, I know what I'm doing." He didn't. :) The Gaffer was early Eighties and I liked it.

    To add a few;

    Fantastic Journey.
    The Changes.

Both Seventies. Edit: So got the wrong decade for this thread. Sorry about that!

If only Channel 5 hadn't decided the viewers couldn't understand it luckily there are other countries ones to watch on Youtube.

    The greatest reality show ever.

Number 73 doesn't get much of a mention these days, I loved it especially cause rent-a-ghost was on during it :D

"Crimewatch" in the 80s was scarier than the worst horror movies. Mainly because of Sue Cook.

BIB - Loved that show and have got the DVD boxset. In my ITV region, it was on at about 1am, which was a shame.
    "Trust me - I know what I'm doing!" :D

Soap (1977 - 1981) - Brilliant parody of daytime soap operas. Also on really late in my ITV region when I watched it in the 80's.

Monkey Dust (2003 - 2005) - Cutting edge, dark and deeply disturbing animated satire, set in a permanent urban nightmare peopled with perverts and killers. Paedofinder General is so relevant today.

I think you might be mis-remembering. Number 73 was ITV, whilst Rent-a-Ghost is BBC.

Ghost Train was OK. I fancied Francis Dodge. She had smashing legs. I've got a bit of it on VHS somewhere, with Paula Abdul performing. I think it's may be the last one, as Barry Mafia steals the Ghost Train back in it.

And therein laid part of its problem, declaring it a "reality show".

I remember countless media articles slagging the programme off, since it was "nothing like Big Brother".

Erm, it's not meant to be like BB.

Hmm, now I get your comment on "viewers couldn't understand".

I loved the episode in the Channel Islands where they took one contestant away and taught them how to interrogate, then had them interrogating their other contestants.

I don't remember too much about Ghost Train, apart from that I really enjoyed it, and Black Box appeared on it at least once!

Just been watching An Actors Life For Me and Nelson's Column on YouTube, mainly because Radio4X have been repeating the radio shows of the former.

Both very entertaining Nineties sitcoms, and John Gordon Sinclair is a terrific comedy actor. These seem pretty much forgotten, which is a shame....they're very entertaining.

Sophie Thompson is in the latter, and I remember having a real crush on her back in the day. Great actress and very cute to boot. Had no idea until I googled her that she was Emma Thompson's sister!
