An Argument which is only valid if the man uses excessive violence. Which Alfie did not. Had Kat slapped him and he beat her senseless you might have a point. Again its a sexist attitude. Its all about context not gender.
its not really. if a man is weak then he cant take a hit. like tyrone in corrie comes across as a weak person so kirsty should not have started hitting him of course violence shouldnt be used anyway if a man is srong enough to take it and has done a woman wrong he deserves to be slapped i just think men shouldnt resort to violence in a woman

Agreed. I'm all for people fighting back in self defence but going out of your way to abuse someone, man or woman, is wrong. Kat abused Alfie, I don't care if he's a man and could "take it" - seriously? I'm with you, AP, this kind of attitude is the reason why more men don't step forward in domestic abuse cases. One needs look no further than Kirsty/Tyrone in Corrie.

its my opinion i wouldnt blame my mum for slapping my dad he can be a nasty bully when he wants to be some men need to learn that they cant treat women like they do and get away with it.

And not all men are stronger than women anyway. Its not about who is stronger but who is violent. Twice without being attacked first Kat has attacked her husband. The last time it was portrayed as comedy whereas had the roles been reversed there is not a chance. Strength doesn't come into it. Nobody should "take" being hit either they have the right to attack back or report it to the police. I think this thread has shown has mind boggling dangerous some peoples attitudes to violence are.

i never condoned kat abusing alfie? thats completely different to slapping a man for doing wrong!

i only condone a slap if a man deserves it! if a man cant take a hit they shouldnt treat women like sh*t

No course you didn't. I mean its only a slap and some people deserve to be attacked because they can take it right? Slapping is attacking and its illegal. Its an offense for a reason. And I can take a slap but if someone hits me depending on who it is they can expect a slap back or a call from the police. Your attitude is the reason men are being abused and don't come forward. if your spouse is hitting you open handed or not then its abuse. Read up on domestic abuse they even talk about how a open hand is still abuse.
Right but you were asking whos side we were on and you mentioned other fights. And in real life people can rape and murder too.
Kat attacking someone is out of line, Roxy has not threatened her life. Just like when she punched Alfie in the face she was wrong. Like I said reverse the roles lets have Alfie punch Kat in the face. Think there would be giggles at the soap awards like there was when Kat punched Alfie? Not a chance. It would have been shown as Alfie being some sort of an abuser which is what Kat is.
BIB I mentioned a similiar situation - Alfie punched Derek for having an affair with Kat now Kat is slapping Roxy for having an affair with Alfie. You cant compare rape and murder to a little tussle in a pub fgs
So do you think Aflie was in the wrong for hitting Derek?

if they deserve it. as i said i would not blame my mum for slapping my dad he can be a nasty bully sometimes men need to learn they cant treat women like they do. if my dad hit back i would be fuming as my mum couldnt take it he has done some crap to her in the past but never actually hit

I wasn't comparing you said its real life and I said in real life lots of things happen such as these. So it wasn't comparing the 2 it was weakening your argument that "since its real life". So your out of context.
I didn't care for it either. Its not spousal abuse as they are not together but Derek had every right to him back or call the police. Just as if Jack ever attacks Phil same would apply. Obviously when 2 people are in a "loving" relationship its much worse as you have a bond with each other just like attacking your own child is worse since its your child. I don't agree with corporal justice at all.
As its Kat's fault that Alfie wants a divorce and by the look at the pictures it looks as though Kat wins the fight but I thought it would've been Roxy because she is a Mitchell and she's also a lot younger than Kat

I am not going to reference your parents as I neither know them or their situation but I stand by what I said nobody who has not been attacked deserves to hit anyone.

Do you get out on a Friday night much? Loads of scrapping, between all sorts of life. Rich and poor, aggressive and quite. Nature placed it within humans to have temper, laws are placed to try and control that temper but it will never be eradicated from humans nature. You can't beat mother nature.

even if the man has treated them shit? there are different ways of treating people crap without resorting to violence.
i was just giving an example with my parents btw lol

Well not so much now as I am a carer for my husband who has cancer and I have 3 young children. But I did grow up in Sicily which the area I was in was probably worse than anything you see in the UK. Not sure why because it happens in real life its ok, is some sort of argument. In some areas of the world it is seen as acceptable women don't drive, your point being?
And no I don't agree with spousal abuse, or attacking someone who has not attacked you. And if you think this is acceptable behaviour I do worry for your future. Do you know 2 women die every week in the UK as the man they are with kills them? But its nature right sorry but I find this argument weak.

Oh good god
I genuinely give up.

Kat's been a disgrace since she was fighting half the square while pregnant with Tommy.
Yeah with her best pal Stacey.
Well said.

And besides, it's not like it's the first time it's happened!:D

Neither as I find it incredible that anyone would fight over bellend Alfie
It all kicked off BIG TIME :eek:
