I was talking about this with my mum earlier, I thought Brendan seemed like a lovely person, but his baking irritated me a bit, he seemed to be perfect at everything though he wasn't actually to be fair. I get a similar feeling about Frances. He was a better baker than Frances though.
I was rather meanly satisfied that Paul gave his 'style over substance' comment earlier.
The style can be a great way of elevating a great bake above the others. It does absolutely nothing if the food itself is poor, which it has been a few too many times.
