So Box 23 would've made no difference whatsoever today! :)

I think that is another banker spanking! :D

Have we ever had two spankings in a row before since we've had box 23.

Please can someone no deal the awful Jack - he is just so annoying, even more so than box 23!! I watched the last half of today's game and really hoped he would keel forwards over his box and be taken away never to be seen again on DEAL!! I do wonder what the people on the wings will say to him when it's his turn to play.

Well this is the first pair of INDISPUTABLE Banker Spanking's since Box 23. There's been several pairs (and even one trio) of irregular banker spankings that one or both of the players technically could've had more:

£15,000 Keith and £170,000 Pat (dealt highest offer but there was +£10,000 in Box 23)

£13,000 Candy (bought Box 23 with £3,000 and her highest offer was £10,000), £2,000 Roy (got a Banker's Gamble on a £50/£20k finish when the Banker probably would've offered more in live play), and £10,100 Rebakah (bought Box 23 with £100 and her highest offer was £3,500)

    £11,000 Buk (hypo-swapped away the £35,000) and £8,300 Mansah

£28,000 Cori and £6,000 Stephen (dealt highest offer but there was +£10,000 in Box 23)

Nowadays it's a lot harder to conclusively spank the Banker thanks to Box 23. :(

Coupon Boy,I applaud your solid work on establishing what a Banker Spanking is and isn't,and working out all the fine details of these things, including whether or not Box23 was taken, what was in it,and even including hypo-swaps.

I have to say though that I regard most of this stuff as meaningless.

As I said a few days ago,Deal or No Deal is all about taking away a decent sum of money from the hand you get dealt.

Whether or not you actually "spank" the Banker, really doesn't matter very much.

I mean Roy dealt at £2,000 and then got offered the Banker's Gamble where he was basically offered the toss of a coin for twenty thousand pounds -9 to 1 his money on an Even money chance, and he refused it. I would say 9 out 10 players would have taken that bet. He had the blue in his box. Can he be said in any meaningful way to have "spanked" the Banker?

    I would say not.

And as for Pat,with her £170,000,is she really going to be that bothered that she didn't technically "spank" the Banker, because she had +£10,000 in Box23?

She still went home with an awful lot of his money.

If I had won £170,000, I wouldn't have cared one bit about +£10,000 or even having the DOUBLE because that is a hell of a lot of money! Also, +£10,000 would only work out as about a 6% increase on the winnings. You'd only have a 20% chance of really making any difference with Box 23.

Tell me about it! I can't believe he would go for box 23 yesterday! :o

Noel, i doubt anyone would use £250,000 on box 23 let alone Ali.

Muting the TV, I don't want to hear another of Noel's stupid FAKE accents! >:(

£35,000 wasn't too bad but £75,000 makes it significant.

"Rub a bit of cream on it." Noel do you know how disgusting that sounds? *PUKE*

It's only the opening round GCT, it is too early to tell wether £35k was significant, if is was in round four for example, it would be significant.

£4,000 is a despicable offer, even with taking out £35k and £75k. >:(

The five thousand needed to go so I don't know why the audience groaned. #roll eyes.

    I'd now offer £13,000.
